Doubt that it matters, regardless of whatever laws they do pass, most gun owners are definitely not going to turn in their firearms. If push came to shove, I'm sure some conflict would arise, some would give them up or go to jail too, but cops would not want to be used as pawns for that as being a cop already comes with risks, just imagine having to face off with disgruntled armed citizens 24/7. Plus, any death that would pile up to such an attempted gun grab would be political suicide for the Dems in the next elections (families who lost loved ones would be pissed off too).
