You suggest me cancel internet service too? If it gets as bad as TV does I may just consider it. Till then, there are still some alternative news sources that actually do expose corruption and inform readers about world events and social/economic trends and threats. As long as they keep doing their job informing, I'll keep a tab on what those sources publish.
By the way, ironic that you say "it's a prison." Ask any real prisoner locked up by the State, what sources of info they are allowed to listen to or have access to. NATIONAL TV, RADIO OR OFFICIAL NEWSPAPERS ONLY. Any "alternatives" in those gulags are prohibited and those sites blocked over their wifi networks. People in prison only know of corruption first hand, when they see how the State treats the people like them or those around them. That's a prison.

I tend not to like what goes on these days, but I accept reality for what it is and have the right to know what others are witnessing and reporting. The point of news is not really to make people comfortable, it's to keep you up to date about the hard world around you, and if you figure out what is a threat to you, you can often mitigate that threat before a reported ugly scenario happens to you unexpectedly. Due vigilance is why I read unofficial investigative news. I want to know if something terrible is going on so I can best prepare for that or know who/what to stay away from, when or why too.

If you were to listen to what the TV media claims, you would think those riots are only "peaceful protests" and might want to go check that out for yourself. Or might not be aware of the danger to you if you were to drive in those areas. Because the corporate TV media won't report that kind of danger or harsh reality….
But if you kept up to date on something like SHTFPlan.com, you would see footage of these so-called "peaceful protesters" and Antifa looting stores, wrecking things, beating up bystanders, fighting with people, blocking traffic and throwing bricks at vehicles, etc… You would not want to be near such recklessness and violence. You would realize "holy shit, this is pretty dangerous, pretty bad area to be around or to live at this point." And you would be safe staying away from such chaos.
Which kind of news source would you rather listen to? The one telling you "nothing to see here, move along!" or the source that shows the viewers how bad things can get?

One alternative news outlet doesn't address the issue at all. Another, Rense, pivots away from the issue by addressing feds and agent provocateurs. Well for historic information, such as examples like how the (((central bankers))) fund both sides of every war there are many documentaries out there. Maybe a site like Anti-empire.com may get into those thorny issues a bit and so does Silver Bear Cafe, but they still report mostly current events and "happenings". No news source is perfect, it's best to find ones that are worthy of reading, keep a list of them and keep tabs from time to time. Some of the sources eventually go down, or sell out, that does happen too. At least it's better than anything you can find in a newspaper or on TV.
