Of course… It wasn't a sure thing…
In fact, based on logic and past history, there was a great probability Chauvin would be acquitted…
But my gut instincts said differently
I didn't pay attention to logic

So I went with my gut…
-I bet $5,000 cash he would be convicted of second degree manslaughter
-I bet $7,500 cash he would be convicted of third-degree murder

My stepfather was traveling across America, and my mother needed to talk to him (but once again they did not have cell phones yet)
Mom pretty much figured he was already in Arizona by that point, so she picked up the handset of the landline phone, dialed the area code, then much like "automatic writing", she just began tapping numbers on the phone…. Just random numbers without even looking…
And she hung up the phone before it ever even connected… (She was just putting herself into that frame of mind)
Next, she picked up the receiver again, and this time she actually had some numbers pop up into her head… So she dialed them…
And HUNG UP THE PHONE AGAIN without even listening to see if it had connected…
Okay, so….. FINALLY…..
Now was theTHIRD EFFORT
She picked up the receiver, and dialed the sequence of numbers she saw in her head…
(I was standing right there in her living room watching this take place, and so was my ex-wife)
