Do all things have an opposite? Socrates thinks so in the Phaedra regarding sleeping and walking, life and death, and then guesses death leads to kids.

does every feature has the opposite feature?

Yes, I think so.

One can add the prefix 'non' before any word to get its opposite. This method solves some of the trickier ones.

Thus the opposite of being is non-being.

The opposite of middle is non-middle.

The opposite of contradiction is non-contradiction.

And so on.

That's not what opposition means. That's just what different is. To be different from being is to be non-being. You can be the non-being of a being by simply being another being.

>>4684

Not everything has opposites. What's the opposite of an apple? What's the opposite of an atom? What's the opposite of a wave? These things have no intrinsic opposite forms conceptually or empirically. Of course, at some conceptual level everything has opposition and difference, but that's not always at the ere level of experienced objects.

Depends on what you mean by 'opposite.'

>>4688

If this, then yes.

>>4690

If this, then no.

The first is logical opposition. The second is more about functional opposition. There's nothing you can eat that would end up un-eating an apple.

Though that's amusing to think about. Presumably if there's an anti-apple, there's also anti-eating. Do they cancel, like mathematical negatives? Is anti-eating an anti-apple like eating an apple?

What about the opposite of not an apple, but the event 'eating an apple.' Anti-eating anti-an anti-apple? So throwing up something that's not an apple, I think? It's suitably convoluted, in any case.
