is a man who does bad deeds sometimes, but on the whole does good, still a good man?

If a bloke goes on /r/askphilosophy and copypastes a question there to /philosophy/, is he not a cunt?
That question is so vague, but here's a reformulation: If a man is a slave master who treats his slaves well most of the time, but beats them terribly sometimes, is he still a good man? Is the man who owns 10 wives, but treats them well, a good man despite the fact that his wives have no freedom beyond his will no matter how kind he is?
The question in general completely ignores structural elements within which "good" is situated. A bad structure is a bad structure, and no matter how kind someone is within that structure, can they truly be said to be good people while engaging in that structure? Is being good merely a thing of intent that has nothing to do with structural relations?

define "good"
define "bad"
define "good deed"
define "bad deed"
define "good man"
define "bad man"
then we can talk

must i define them all myself? very well. keep in mind im writing this late at night so it is subject to change.
good: to help or harm those who deserve help or harm, including yourself
Bad: the inverse of good; to help those who deserve harm and to harm those who deserve help
i really dont see why i need to define these when i have defined good and bad, but whatever
good deed: but the definition would be "the act of doing good"
bad deed: the act of doing bad
good man: this is what i came here to find out, if i knew the definition i wouldnt be here you goober
Bad man: presumably the inverse of a good man.

depending on how anal retentive you are you can go two ways about the question:
- start talking about ethical theories
- start talking about ethical language
choose.

assuming absolute moral truths exist, and we have absolute moral knowledge about which actions, words, and thoughts are objectively "good" or "bad", there are still some things that might matter beyond what was done:
would he admit that he'd done bad, or genuinely seek forgiveness? would he attempt to either repair the damage done, or make up for it, as much as is possible? would he attempt not to do more bad things in the future? if so, at least he would not be a hypocrite about it.

If you can define 'deserve' the answer is trivial. If you can't, the answer is undecidable.

That's a matter of definition. In Christian theology, there are no good men because 'good' is defined by God and us humans are inherently incapable of living up to it. If you want to say somebody is 'good for society' then perhaps an atheist child is more likely to be good than a Christian child, and it is probably a direct result of their beliefs and upbringing. That being said, averages cannot be applied to individuals because averages are collections, and there is no individual that perfectly meets every single average statistic about him/her right in the middle.

Can a racist still be a good person?
I think the question hinges on whether you think a person can be misguided while having selfless intentions you could call good.
