I'm a newphag @ philosophy and I tried reading Plato's dialogues and I couldn't last a page without getting thoroughly bored. From what I've learned thus far, I prefer Aristotle anyway.

I'll g-get to him one day. I promise...

Funny, I was the other way around. I've read virtually all of Plato's dialogues, and thoroughly enjoyed each of them in a different way, while Aristotle has had me held up for a while.

Out of curiosity, what points of Aristotle's philosophy do you enjoy the most?

I like his ethical views (there is no universal idea of the 'good', don't apply the golden mean mechanically/virtue ethics) and overall I like that he had (what I suppose you could call) an empirical approach in contrast to Plato who comes across as what you could call rationalist. Aristotle isn't my all time favourite, but as far as the Ancient Western world goes, I like him more than pretty much everyone else.

Alright, interesting; I appreciate it. Would you recommend any particular work like the ethics or poetics to best get a grasp of his ideas? I've tried scratching at the surface in the past, but like I said Aristotle was hard for me to read, largely in part to his terminology.

Haven't read his stuff either but I would say the nicomachean ethics and politics since you obviously don't have to worry about his archaic metaphysics.

I finally got to him again. I must not have gotten enough sleep back when I posted this, since I have been getting and I tried reading the same dialogue collection and I'm really enjoying it.

Aristotle still King of the Greeks tbh.
