It's called "Mysticism".
I'm an atheist, but I'm fascinated by these philosophies as well.
Buddhism
Advaita Vedanta
Kabbalah
Gnosticism
The list goes on. At core they all tend to be monistic, and view a deity as everything or the ground of being. The details, of course, are radically different in all of them.

I've been into gnosticism and related studies for many years now, and have had many mystical experiences which have only confirmed the old wisdom. The Platonic Realms for instance are not just a metaphor but an actuality that can be perceived as clearly as our 3D world, if not more so.

>>1334Just hit up psychedelics/ meditation/ holotropic breathing. Mystical philosophies are interesting to a point, but for me that point has been reached. I want to experience the mystical myself.
I've experienced some low end experiences through meditation, but I am unable to go further. I'd like to take psychedelics, but I haven't yet found a means of procuring them that I feel safe with.

>Not realizing that metaphor is the actuality of the Aeonic realm.
Actualities are things invented by the Demiurge to allow him to lord over this world. That is not to say that actualities should be rejected, the purpose of life in this realm is to discover the hidden nous that permeates darkness of our actualities. To limit your experience with actualities is to limit your ability to discover nous. Actualities should be taken freely and joyously, with an understanding that they cannot be taken at face value and should not be the sole end of our actions
