>"When used on men, these drugs can reduce sex drive, compulsive sexual fantasies, and capacity for sexual arousal."

A non-permanent form of treatment capable of reducing libido… how effective would even just a kickstarting single dose (which apparently lasts for at least 3 months) be for nofap?

You're not trying to eliminate libido with nofap, you're trying to harness it. This would ruin your life just as surely as relapse.

You don't want this OP. The side effects are pretty severe, ranging from decreased bone and muscle density to weaker immune response. These chemicals permanently disrupt the chemistry and hormonal balance of your body in order to prevent what your body does naturally; this doesn't just "change" you, it mutilates you, and the consequences make your body weak and frail. There's a reason these drugs are reserved for universally hated groups like pedophiles and serial rapists.

Nofap might seem so difficult to you that you need to resort to this, but you don't actually need this. The ability to quit is already in you. You just have to want it and keep going, even if it's hard, even if you don't feel like it, even if you know you can click a button and get another rush of dopamine. There's no easy way out of it. You have to work for it like everyone else.

Don't start spending all your savings on things that are likely to cause you irreversible damage, OP. Get real… You're trying to eliminate a simple bad habit here, not a virus.

Spare me the dramatic pep talk, jackass. I did not come here and make this thread so that you could waste a post telling me to resist temptation like I didn't know that it was the point of nofap in the first place. Address the subject at hand or not at all.

>the side effects are pretty severe

Those side effects are supposed to be rare and not guaranteed in the slightest, not to mention it would be from prolonged and continuous use over a significantly long period of time. There are several things in life that have a small chance of hurting you whether it's from lack of vigilance or just plain bad luck.

>there's a reason these drugs are reserved for universally hated groups like pedophiles and serial rapists.

That's just plain conjecture on your behalf. These drugs aren't reserved for them, it's only known mostly for that because in that case, it's either enforced as punishment to those people or an option to decrease the severity of the punishment. These treatments are also used for cancer patients with hormonal problems, too. It's simply not a normal thing for people to go out of their way to get chemically castrated besides needing to. That doesn't mean people can't get it for themselves.

Let's say you're right and there are no adverse long term effects. What exactly do you think is going to happen once the dose wears off and your libido comes rushing back with a vengeance? You took the easy approach and gained no willpower as a result. My prediction is you will instantly crumble to your desires again and either be forced to maintain a dependency on these chemicals long term to keep your libido in check or will relapse almost instantly, probably binging to the extreme.

My view is you either do this on your own or what's the point? You can probably work up the willpower to at least limit your fapping to once a week if you really try. You can probably also limit your porn exposure to solo vanilla or no visual aid at all no matter how weak your resolve is initially.

When I started nofap I could make it a few days and then relapse. I eventually worked it up to a week or two. I am now at a point I am on an indefinite nofap with almost no effort on my part at all involved anymore. It didn't happen overnight, and in the interest of full disclosure, it required an external event to motivate me past the week or two relapse phase to perma-mode. Know what else? Since I built up my willpower in this area I also built it up in others. I regularly lift and go to the gym now when before it would be sporadic at best. I'm eating healthier, getting more sleep. This is not directly related to nofap, it's directly related to taking control of my life and living it on my terms by building willpower.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You reached new heights of pathetic OP, or is it new lows?

First you shill for self-flagellation, then for chastity devices, when it's exposed that it's your fetish you shill for chemical castration.

What's next, eunuch-shilling?

The majority of your post is more of the shit I specifically told you that I'm not interested in reading. I don't care about your life story, this information is completely useless to me. Irrelevant pep talk is not an argument. Do you cram this shit down anons' throats because you know they give up and leave after making a thread? Maybe if you knew how to have more than a single-sided conversation, you wouldn't be pushing people away all the time.

>What exactly do you think is going to happen once the dose wears off and your libido comes rushing back with a vengeance?

I'll tell you what, if you were capable of actually reading what I've been saying, you would already know that it wouldn't matter whether trying it works or not.

Since you're so easily rustled by inquisitive viewpoints, I'll do you a favor and start off with your claim, that it won't do anything for you and the habit would be just as bad as before you took it. Then it didn't work. The point is that you know for sure by at least trying it. You won't need more than one dose to tell whether it did anything to help.

Now let's say that it works and it's beneficial to nofap. It would last long enough to significantly stretch the time that you can resist the habit. It might not even be enough to kick the habit on its own, unless you managed to find new ways to derive dopamine in the meantime, such as legitimate accomplishments. In any case, it would still have definitely helped by a lot, and with only one dose needed. It would defeat the point if you relied on taking doses forever. If anything, it should help you push forward with things you aren't used to doing when you're starved of that dopamine, but can't be bothered to get any from sexual pleasure.

More people would be frequenting this board if you weren't going out of your way to shut out different options and opinions. Even if one method doesn't work, people are smart enough to find the best way to deal with their problems their own way.

Not the person you're responding to but you really need to calm down. You don't need to take it so personally when someone disagrees with you over something.

The levels of assmad and projection in your responses are approaching that of chastity-device-man and that one fedora tipper who shows up from time to time to call us all fap shaming christians.

>Edgy projection: the post

Then do it, faggot. If you don't want others to give opinions or caution you on why it's probably a bad idea what the fuck is the point of this thread? So you can stand up and show how pathetic you are that you need to turn to chemicals to accomplish what others here can do with their mind alone? That you need to remove the very essence of your masculinity to make any progress at self improvement? If you are so convinced it's the correct path then just go do it and prove you're right. Go be your own guinea pig and at least provide some anecdotal evidence.

It's funny that you mention "taking disagreements personally" and "assmad projection" when you have this other guy that I'm talking to being almost entirely unwilling to argue with me on the matter at hand. The guy that's trying to divert my attention with some personal feelings of his that are of no significance to me and projecting how he felt during the early stages of nofap onto me when I hadn't even said anything to imply where I am in regards to any of this at all. As for any projection that I have done, you can consider that as fighting fire with fire.

>If you don't want others to give opinions or caution you on why it's probably a bad idea what the fuck is the point of this thread?

Rather than opinions, I was thinking more of the facts, and assessing them properly.

>So you can stand up and show how pathetic you are that you need to turn to chemicals to accomplish what others here can do with their mind alone? I don't know, all of this sounds like some salty projection right here.

Just let it go, man. /nofap/ has had an influx of new posters recently, so obviously you're going to get all sorts of mentally unstable trolls among these also. Just say your opinion and move on. If they want to mess themselves up further, don't argue and just let them. Anybody who's smart enough or not already beyond help will know to steer clear of their (((advice))).

>using chemicals to treat a behaviourial problem

You can do that, but you have to realise that in the process your body will become dependant on chemicals to resist your urges. When you return from your supposed non-permanent treatment, you will find that your willpower towards resisting the urges will be unchangend.
