That's true, but only slightly. My brother and I are in our late 20s with only a single year age difference. My brother takes after my mother's father who went bald around 30 and lost his hair a few years ago, whereas I take after my father's father who kept his hair until he was 70 and haven't thinned a bit. It's important to find out exactly which grandparents you get your traits from, which varies from child to child.
