They could be reading your body language.

It could be just your imagination/coincidence.

You might smell bad if you don't get cleaned up properly. I can sometimes smell the stink of masturbation on other men at the grocery store. It is very obvious and it is not pleasant. I'm not being metaphorical either, it's a literal odor that smells bad.

I remember reading something, possibly from the 19th century, about the look of a chronic masturbator. Sallow cheeks, pallid complexion, and a posture and demeanor suggestive of shame.
