I've just been starting to really get into DnB music, any good recommendations? So far some stand out favorites include:

>Amon Tobin - Bricolage

>Omni Trio

>T-Power - The Self Evident Truth of an Intuitive Mind

>Wax Doctor

>Soichi Terada - Sumo Jungle Grandeur

In what sort of DnB are you interested in?

The more raw sound of jungle music catches my interest pretty well, but I also have a fondness for the more polished and gentler style such as The Haunted Science. Hard to say exactly what the type I'm looking for though.

Then I guess you might be interested in earlier things that hospital/med school produced, now maybe even majority is shit, they push shit lyrics and stuff into, it's more like drum and pop, but london elec is dnb god. They are still the most quality liquid labels tho and have good podcast.

Shame they have shit fans, was on hospitality last year, music was good, but wouldn't fuck even the nicest guys that were there.

From hospitals newer artist I recommend krakota, royalston and urbandawn. Most of their artists experiment a lot, lush label. Also check their "future sound of -".

I'll get shit for it, but I really like a few tracks from the first album of Pendulum, like this one. Not a fan of the album as a whole, but any similar tracks, fellow drum and bassers?

>Amon Tobin - Bricolage

If you haven't listnened to Permutation or Supermodified yet, now's the time. Those three first albums are amazing compared to the rest of his output. Chaos Theory gets an honorable mention.

I have listened to them and agree. When I first got into his music I started with those three back to back essentially.

dbridge and instra:mental frabriclive 50 is on a whole other level, can't really describe it and do it justice but just imagine the original bladerunner sountrack set in the shell of london

Same. It wasn't until GTA: LCS that it really got its hooks into me, although I think the Ape Escape soundtrack gave me an early taste for it.

I'm having a hard time differentiating between DnB and Breakbeat, how are they different?

 No.98365

Honestly I find dnb one of the hardest genres to recommend, just because it can be really damn hard to find artists who make consistently good material.

If you're the kind of guy who makes Frankenstein libraries out of all sorts of artists and different songs from different albums specifically picked out because that one song appeals to you, then it can work.

really the only two artists I can heartily recommend are Black Sun Empire:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kuzl1aaL2gg

and Longwalkshortdock:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUSQjnMC4d8

Noisa also has some good content:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtppf3xkby4

but in my experience it is severely overplayed.

kindof like the McDonalds of dnb, but I don't want to poison the well here, if you never heard it before it'll probably be 10/10 content for you.
