Let's talk about remasters that completely ruined albums. I spent over a decade thinking Rust in Peace was an overrated piece of shit because I got the remastered version. Being a victim of the loudness wars is a lesser problem here because there's just so much wrong with it. The drums and occasionally the rhythm guitar are muted while the vocals dominate everywhere and the bass is MIA. Everything is incredibly treble-heavy with almost no bass to speak of. Seriously, just listen to the piece of shit in the embed and compare it to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLnjufKaikg .

They're one of the weaker thrash metal bands for sure, but the remaster turned something mediocre with some genuinely good solos into a complete piece of ass.

Are there any remasters that aren't worse then the originals?

The 2006 blue cover version of Nothing sounds a lot better than the original 2002 version. Links related.
