I fucking hate how pirating music has become more of a bitch over the years.
In 2013 if I wanted an album, I literally just had to type in "[album name] torrent" and I'd get FLAC results on the first page.
Since around 2017, I've noticed music pirating has gotten faggier. Now you have to go on SLSK and dick around with some P2P faggots to find anything that isn't absolute normalfag shit. I hate private trackers and P2P networks where you actually have to talk to people.
I just want an artist's discog without some faggot being like "but what can you give me?".
Why has it gotten this way? What was wrong with dumping music onto public trackers? You can still find tons of music on clearnet public trackers, but now it's YouTube-quality shit. Music streaming has made everybody complacent with shit audio fidelity.
>inb4 some apologist goes 'OH BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN" just because they've never personally experienced it
Look, I get if you only ever pirate semi-known bands like Death Grips or King Gizzard this might not be a big problem, but if you're like me and you like obscure local shit then you're shit outta luck.

I just find 99% of my music from bandcamp these days which is really easy to pirate from. If you're looking for local shit you're probably shit out of luck tho

I'm mostly fine with YouTube-level quality but hate having to rip and tag albums myself. Downloading torrents of music nowadays definitely sucks though. Even somewhat well-known music groups often have barely anyone seeding. I've had better luck downloading torrents of TV shows and even a few obscure movies (to the general public, at least) than music in recent years.

Besides the whole interview shit I've never been spoken to on private trackers. Sucks that pirating on public trackers is a pain in the ass now.

Probably there's simply less people interested in general, with the rise of steaming and all.
Though personally i rarely have trouble finding publicly shared albums in soulseek

2 words my man: ru tracker
I still need to get on red and waffles but I mostly just use rutracker because they have flac cd and vinyl rips from many artists, and lots of times the uploader will even tell you the source and provide artwork. The only thing that's a bitch for me is when they give no information whatsoever to the catalog # or source, which is why I need to get on some private trackers bc it'll save me a lot of time from searching the web for covers and shit.
>obscure local shit
Ok I don't know what you're expecting actually, that was never a thing. It was always hard to find rips (especially in lossless) from local bands. BUT I think it might be partially because bandcamp is more popular now so people just buy their shit.

Post something you've had an issue finding. How are you so sure it exists in the first place? All this evidence is circumstantial. As I believe, back in 2013, those type of folks also existed. And it seems like you haven't tried music streaming service that offer hifi, as if we can still pretend to hear the difference, it seems the solution to your 'problem'. And just because you can't find something the first time around on SLSK doesn't mean people don't offer it, they just don't keep their PCs on 24/7.

use torrentz2. or just use Spotify because it's convenient, cheap, and good quality for a large selection of songs except if you want the downloads there easily without recording with OBS, you want lossless FLAC/WAV for archival purposes, want original mastering versions of The Beatles, miss artists like Spacemen 3 and Glenn Branca, or you're a firm believer of FOSS.
