I recently made a program that makes it very easy to turn audio files into webms that you can post in 8chan, without having to fiddle with a command line or install anything. Thought you guys might have use for it.

Serious disadvantage, mate.

I've been using webm for retards since 2014, and it hasn't been working as well for audio files these days, so hopefully your program will help me out. Why does the UI have to be so absurdly fucking small, though? Seems like it makes the images smaller, too.

I assume linux users would prefer to use ffmpeg from a command line anyway. I'll port it some day when my OS-related code stops changing so much. As for mac… not interested.

It uses a font I drew because font files are a disaster so I haven't decided how to support them yet. I guess I should at least make a bigger one.
The image is downscaled so you don't have to worry about what kind of image you give to it, and so it won't take space unnecessarily. It's somewhat small by default because I didn't think the image would matter as much as the music, I guess I could let you control the maximum size though.

I'd say do both of those, because as is writing a custom filename requires me to squint, and there's no reason it shouldn't keep your image the same by default, and let you downscale if needed.

I can read the text fine but I didn't consider other people might have a different monitor setup.
>there's no reason it shouldn't keep your image the same by default
A lot of images are unnecessarily large, for example I don't see why the image at >>102288 needs to be 1200x1200 and that's smaller than a lot of images, it just makes the video player more annoying. Both the audio and image need to be compressed so webms also aren't very useful for sharing the source image nor audio. This was made to be as simple as possible just so you could post audio to 8chan without having to think about the conversion process.
Anyway it's not like I don't want the options to be there. I'll add the size controls and a button to easily toggle them, and try to make a bigger font.

Added size controls and made a bigger font. It doesn't look as clean but should hopefully be more readable from further away.

Nowhere. Why does it need to be open source? It's not like I'm going to accept anyone's code, and it's not like anyone wants to use my shitty code.

It doesn't matter, the user should have the option to study and modify the source regardless of if you think anyone wants it.

Having to keep some repository up to date is more work for me for no reason. If there's something you want to do with it then I'll consider it.

Even if you just throw the project files in a zip file with the executable, it's better then nothing

Two quick problems:
#1: Inputting a song with non-traditional/weird unicode characters causes the UI to completely freak out. Webm For Retards doesn't have this problem, so it can't be FFMPEG related.
#2: It doesn't accept numbers from the numpad, even with num lock on. What the hell, man?

>Inputting a song with non-traditional/weird unicode characters causes the UI to completely freak out
Well, shit. TL;DR it's "extended ascii" characters (for example ä ö) that mess up. Most special characters show up as question marks so I never realized that, my text system wasn't equipped to handle it at all.
I can fix that one, but I just realized a much bigger problem; the only reason any special characters ever "worked" in the program at all is because they turn into question marks. But since they do that, it's impossible for the program to get the real filename and thus pass it to ffmpeg. In order to fix that I need to tell Windows to enable unicode, which seems to change all the functions that deal with text.
So in other words, it's not a problem I'm ready to deal with for now.
>It doesn't accept numbers from the numpad
Seems like numpad uses different key codes than the number keys, didn't know that. Easy fix though.
I uploaded a new version that fixes numpad and other stuff and makes extended ASCII characters show up as squares, but I can't make unicode characters work for a while. Anyway thanks for pointing these out. I didn't realize how big of a problem unicode text was, somehow I thought I had already successfully interacted with Japanese filenames in the past.

But it's executable code and it's for windows. How is anyone supposed to know whether it's safe or a trojan?
