Can someone hook me up with some good math rock? I really enjoy the poppy/post-hardcore vibe in the vein of This Town Needs Guns and Dance Gavin Dance.

Everything I was going to recommend is already in that chart, so I guess I'll just single them out and say that you should check out Cheval de Frise, nuito, the first Tera Melos album at least, and, if you haven't already listened to them, Hella.

I searched Math Rock on YouTube because I had only learned of the genre and it came back with old School House Rock videos and a playlist of seemingly computer made guitar music kept to an impossibly perfect 4:4 time signature, along with every other instrument. I've come to learn this was not the right thing. What is a good introductory album?

Weird lol. Spiderland is a decent place to start.

If you like post-hardcore, Fall of Troy is good, they were my introduction to the genre.

Not really one to shill, especially for someone else's music, but this guy does amazing work and basically nobody's heard of him. So far he's combined math rock with electronic music as System Ready, and with midwestern emo as Painted Worlds. They're both great.

the problem with it is that it is completely entry level and is simplistic. its good for learning if you're an up and beginning artist but is good for little else.
