YouTube is introducing a premium feature in which users can pay $10 a month to see videos without advertising, as well as other features. Currently, it has only been introduced in the US.

YouTube is currently blocking any videos determined to be owned by a copyright holder when that copyright holder does not agree to YouTube's terms from being viewed in the US. As many Japanese companies have not agreed to these terms, a large number of YouTube videos featuring Vocaloid content have thus become unable to viewed in the US.

YouTube Red blocks certain covers, even if the original song has not been claimed. For example, some creators report that Vocaloid covers of a Vocaloid song have been made unavailable in the US because the Vocaloid cover matches a copyright claim of a utaite cover.
Additionally, monetization of videos with such matches and videos in which producers have not agreed to YouTube Red have reportedly been disabled entirely.

As of now, YouTube Red only applies to the United States, however, YouTube seems to have plans to expand the service worldwide.

Also: As you will discover as you go down the list and read my notes, it’ll be become clear google’s blocking seems completely arbitrary. Sometimes, only covers are blocked, or MMD versions are okay, or subbed versions are blocked, or subbed versions of covers are okay… This sadly isn’t quite as simple as “song X is blocked”. Board owner, I’m not sure how you’ll want to handle this, as this is all over the place.

Also, it turns out Google /is/ filtering search results and channel videos as I suspected (OP and >>43893 here). On the channel those videos were uploaded to, the EAGER LOVE REVENGE ones you mentioned as being blocked are not showing at all (I am in the US). See first screenshot.
Google might also filtering searches…kind of. Searching for the exact name of a blocked video (see 2nd screenshot) will bring it up. Being vague (see 3rd screenshot) seems to possibly filter it–the original Popipo video doesn't even appear on the first page of results.
So, only are videos being blocked in the US, but it appears they are also being made semi-private, so the chance of somebody in the US finding the video url and proxying around it are much lower.

So…
I've been using a proxy to get around things, and I noticed that whenever I set the proxy to any of the French servers (I tried several), I basically get the same videos being blocked. The UK server properly bypasses videos.
Has YouTube Red has hit France already, or does Google have these French proxies flagged or something? (I'm not very good with security technology so I apologize if this is a very stupid question.) I'd expect this from Germany seeing as Germany has been blocking videos for years now, but not France.

I tried using proxfree.com and my antivirus twice popped up to qurantine a file, something its never done before. I know Hotwheels said somehting about antiviruses giving false alarms, and it's a free one so it's probably pretty awful, and I'm on a Mac so it's unlikely to be an actual virus, but just in case it may not be the best idea to use that website.

I think this is the beginning of the end for youtube. I've been having some issues with it ever since google acquired it.
We're likely to get better things to replace it soon.

We're not Google's core audience. Most people who aren't into Japanese media (and Korean; Korean media has also been hit hard by YouTube Red from what I've heard from a few friends into K-pop) know absolutely nothing about YouTube Red making some videos private.
Paying $10 does not remove the US block of YouTube Red. All it does is remove advertising,

and in some cases may include access to private streams. Probably only major YouTubers like PewdiePie. You're basically pay $10 for an adblocker, but unlike an adblocker, you are supporting creators…a little bit.
Rumor has it that YouTube Red is actually a huge loss for the majority of content creators who use monetization. Additionally, any views garnered from viewers using the free trial of YouTube Red are not monetized at all. The whole reason Japanese and Korean media companies are blocked in the US is because Exit Tunes and several others basically said "screw this, these terms are unreasonable so we'll just ignore them."
As a side note, I've heard Exit Tunes is currently in negotiations with YouTube these days, or at least that is what Crusher has indicated on Twitter regarding people's covers of Crystalline being blocked.

It's $10 a month for an adblocker that allows Google to tie your youtube activity to personal financial information. The main benefit to Google is not the subscription revenue, but the reams of data they will be able to collect and sell (including to various governments).

I don't see why Red is necessary for this. Google already links youtube accounts to their Google+ pages, and those profiles are linked, in turn, to the Play store, which many people use to buy apps and such for their smartphones.

It just lets them cast a wider net. Not everyone uses the play store. Many people have multiple google+ profiles. Many people browse youtube without logging in (but they will be encouraged to log in if they have a Red subscription and can see videos without ads by doing so).
