I've had a pretty wild idea that I thought I'd post here. Someday, I plan to paint a mannequin and transform them into my waifu. It would essentially be like having a 1/1 scale figure of them which would be so awesome! I've watched a bunch of videos by artists online where they repaint barbies and the process would be the exact same, just A LOT more time consuming due to the increased surface area. I personally would like to paint the face and insert glass eyes to give a totally 3D/human appearance. But I was also thinking you could use a kigurumi mask instead if you wanted that anime appearance. It would be SO easy to dress and buy clothes for as they'd be human sized. It does require knowing how to use an air brush so I'm going to start practicing on smaller dolls like barbie etc. I think it would make an amazing art piece to anyone who would see it.

Pic is a before and after of a mannequin that was repainted. This will be a HUGE undertaking that I can't take in the immediate future, but I plan to start practicing and levelling up my skills soon.

Uh, I'm pretty sure OP meant that it would be cool to make a mannequin into a 1/1 scale figure of their waifu, not 'make a waifu out of a mannequin'.

I like the idea… It's something I'd like to try one day, too. I've even seen some cosplay outfits floating around, so it would be relatively easy to make it look authentic! You'll probably beat me to it though… my art skills are pretty lacking.

Good luck with that, OP!

Pretty sure they meant a doll *of* their waifu, not that the doll is their waifu.

I don't think I'd do it personally, as it seems like the dolll would just kind of sit around and not be very lifelike. Just my opinion, but I feel like that would get kind of creepy after a while. Still, if you like the idea then more power to you to try, maybe you can find a way to negate that.

I think you've misunderstood. I want to make a mannequin in the image of my waifu, not that the doll would actually be her. It's just like a lifesize figurine of my waifu.

>>67964

Seeing all the cosplays available online is a big part of what gave me the idea!

>>67983

I really would see it as a giant figurine rather than her, I've seen a lot of 1/1 scale anime figures online and I don't personally find them creepy

Hmm…seeing it as a giant figure is an interesting way to look at it. That might not be so bad! I had been under the impression that you'd use it sort of like a daki.

Not at all, I'd see it just as one of these but home made
