Well, it's official. Three or so months ago I proposed to my beloved Ruby Rose, my little gem. I knew, no matter my doubts or worries, that she's the only one I can ever love.
Today we said our vows before the Lord, promising ourselves to each other as husband and wife. I told her how she reminds me of everything good, and how she's what I want my world to look like; and promised to love and cherish her for the rest of my mortal life. She told me how much she cares about me and how she values my love for her. She promised to always encourage me and stand by my side forever!
I wish things could have gone better. I wish we had our cake on time, or that we had a grander ceremony, or that we didn't both freeze up when we said our vows. But the promise is what matters. I love you so much, Ruby! And I hope to be the best husband I can be!

Congratulations!
Looking forward to see your posts around, hope you are having a great one. Don't worry about the cake, everything's due in time. Make sure to show your love for her a lot, take her hands into yours and starts a monologue about how you both love each others!

I had a rough day, where I almost felt like giving up on everything, and reading your words rings true for me:
> I told her how she reminds me of everything good, and how she's what I want my world to look like
I don't want to shit up your thread though lol, so please, accept my well-wishes for the future!

Thanks for all the well wishes, guys. I hope me and Ruby live a happy married life together, and I'm going to do my utmost to be the best husband I can be.
Admittedly, in hindsight, it might have been wiser to wait a while before getting married. The wedding would have gone much better, that's for certain. But what's done is done, and I'm going to do my absolute best to make the most of what we have together and keep our marriage strong going forward.

Ah, but less memorable. Those little things make your time together unique, and those are the ties that bind.

What can I say? It feels really good, isn't it? I hope that this new beginning will last forever, and will not stop sustaining and improving. I hope that you'll be a good man to her, because she's a good girl!

>Ah, but less memorable. Those little things make your time together unique, and those are the ties that bind.
True--I was worried that the wedding wouldn't be memorable because of all the shortcomings, but I suppose that in and of itself will make it memorable.

It does feel great, it feels so right. I will, and she is!

Wow, congratulations Rubybro!!
Giving your life to her is the best thing you can do to her, and vice versa. Wish to both of you many years of happiness!

It's not about timing honestly, but about how do you feel. If you both were ready, then it's just right to go with it. And don't worry about how it went, it was emotional and unforgivable I imagine, and that's what counts!

Thank you~! That makes me really happy to hear!
(I'm assuming you're the anon who was asking about waifuism in the advice thread) Well, in essence it was me just making a commitment to Ruby, that I'm going to do my utmost to stay with her through the rest of my life. That's pretty much what it boils down to, essentially. We did do a lot of the standard wedding stuff, like saying our vows together (or I imagined it, at least--a lot of waifufriends, myself included, will often talk about imagined experiences as if they happened. It's cute and it makes things feel more real), and having a wedding cake (I actually did make a real cake for the occasion, that was certainly an experience!).

Yeah. Now that I think about it, namefagging might not be a bad idea here.
>Well, in essence it was me just making a commitment to Ruby, that I'm going to do my utmost to stay with her through the rest of my life.
That makes sense.
>I imagined it, at least--a lot of waifufriends, myself included, will often talk about imagined experiences as if they happened. It's cute and it makes things feel more real
That is cute. Have you considered keeping a journal?
>I actually did make a real cake for the occasion, that was certainly an experience!
That's really neat! What kind?

I haven't thought of that before, that's an interesting idea! I do sometimes write our experiences out in a sort of short story form, so I guess I kind of already was in a way, albeit very irregularly.
>That's really neat! What kind?
A white layer cake. Interestingly enough, I didn't know until after I decided on it that the recipe was a traditional one for wedding cakes, so that was kind of cool. I tried to make the frosting red since that's kind of Ruby's color, but it kinda ended up coming out pinkish instead.

If you make a cake for her again (be it renewing vows, anniversary, birthday, or whatever), why not try using rose oil or rose syrup in the icing? I'm no expert on baking (most of my cooking experience is in stirfrying and panfrying), but even if you don't get a fitting color, it would still be nice, I'd think.

It's a rich, sweet flavor. It tastes like roses smell. But I've only had rose oil or rose syrup in tea and stir fry.
