 No.60325>>60338 >>60434 [Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

So I guess I'll do a couple specific questions and just some personal circumstances since specific questions are usually part of how this board operates:

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Obviously there are people with fairly obscure waifus that have no reason to feel sympathetic to me. The anime my waifu is from ended in 2009 and the mangas been done a Soul Eater Not! was fun but more of a tease than anything.

I don't find that this has a bearing on our relationship but without being vain I think my waifu enjoyed being fairly popular for a while. I just feel like seeing new content of her with her would be fun for both of us.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

The movie ended the shows run in 2011.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

I started dating Ritsu years after it ended so not really. I just fill in the gaps where I don't have reference in the show like most people I'm sure.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

Yeah for the most part though a couple of months back we got a new official piece of art which was nice, pic related. Going back through stuff like pixiv you can really tell that it slows down more each year. Love live really drew in a lot of the k-on fans I feel like.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Not at all. When a shows off air for even a few seasons, reviving it is almost always a terrible idea. And a show thats been done for 5 years? That'd be just awful. The original group of people who gave the show its perfect comfy feel won't be the same people making the show now.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Three Years to be exact. I do believe the trailer is earlier in 2012

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

If it's possible, then sure. Her source material is controversial for many reasons, ask any /a/nons or /v/ anons. They'll know.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

She appeared in a Vidya once. It was terrible. Now my hopes for a ArcSys game pick up its slack.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

YES! After the original series is over, Monty deserved better than this. Let the Nips do this.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Touhou Project has been around for two decades already and is still running. It's ZUN's lifework, so it's not going away any time soon.

My waifu first appeared in the 7th installment of the main series, which was released in 2003.

Other than a few cameos in the official mangas, she hasn't appeared since Touhou 13 in 2011.

That's because new Touhou games tend to introduce mostly new characters and Youmu is only a regular guest among the main characters.

But there's a real chance that she might be playable in Touhou 16, because ZUN stated in an interview that he's thinking of using her in the next game instead of Sanae.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Well, I added some headcanon here and there, but the way I imagine her roughly stayed the same. But I can't say that my original perception of her wasn't in part influenced by the fandom. The source material itself is a bit inconsistent and mainstream interpretation of the canon in fanon has some influence on the general perception of a character.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

It has. As for unofficial content: Starting around 2011, a lot of talented content creators have been leaving the Touhou fandom. Then the Kancolle boom happened, bringing the popularity of Touhou to its lowest point in years. Touhou's decline has stabilized in the past two years, but it's still fairly bad compared to the time when I first met my waifu.

As a result, not only the Japanese fandom has suffered, but also the international and Western fandom. Basically, new doujinshi with my waifu are still being produced, but not scanlated.

As for fan art in general, Youmu is still fairly popular, but the overall quality has suffered considerably with a lot of talented artists leaving Touhou behind.

Official content of my waifu and Touhou in general has also been slowing down for two reasons:

1. Rare or insignificant appearances in the main series of Touhou games have led to only few manga cameos in the past few years.

2. Due to Chinese economy, there hasn't been much official merchandise like figurines lately. Until 2013 there has been a new figurine of Youmu coming out every 1-2 years, but none ever since.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Touhou is always going to be there, for the better or worse.

Compared to most manga or anime characters, Touhou characters are only ever shown in few distinct situations, so I welcome any additional information about my waifu I can get.

It was Monty's work after all, and he made about eight or twelve volumes about the series. Now the company running it are gonna continue it to their best abilities.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material? Pt. 2

Most of the headcanons were given to me by LyndisBro, telling me that she had Grimm in her genes. That explained why she had anger issues.

Now the writers are treating her like dirt.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Manga from 2006-2010, anime from 2010-2012.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Very little. I imagine her personality to be a bit less pessimistic, which I feel can work sense she became more friendly and less bitter as the series went on. I do admire her tough love pessimism though. The biggest change is that she didn't fall for nishijima for obvious reasons.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu I don't know. I assume people are still cranking out fanfiction. Official content is dead though.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel

I just hope for minene, so long as it doesn't expand on her love arc with nishijima. Anything but that I'd love to see.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Love Live started in June 2010 as a multimedia project between ASCII Media, Lantis, and Sunrise, so it'll be almost seven years old. The official anime started at the beginning of 2013 so it's almost four years old.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Not really, I just put a focus more on the part that made me fall in love with her that's not really depicted much.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

The anime ended long after I admitted my love, but there was the movie that was released in 2015, and muse officially disbanded in spring of this year so there's not gonna be much official content of her from this point on. She's still popular in fanworks it seems.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Love Live itself hasn't ended with Sunshine and Acqours which is in the same universe, but I don't think they'll be a reboot/sequel of the original muse. Not that they need one. I do hope that she makes a slight cameo appearance in the Sunshine anime hopefully without Nozoeli pandering

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

The series itself is almost six years old but the game she was introduced in came out four years ago. The series is still running but her story is finished, I hope.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Probably. A degree of headcanon is to be expected but I do try to adhere to what I can find evidence for in the source. At the very least, every inference I've made about her has had basis in the text.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

It was never terribly fast to begin with. She's not very popular compared to a lot of the other female characters.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Nope, at least not for her story. I got lucky with how the show ended. New DR looks pretty cool though and I'll probably get that

-KLK wrapping itself quite nicely and adding more would only be a disservice?

-TRIGGER making the hypothetical next season on par or worse than the OVA?

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Rozen Maiden started at like 2002 with the manga so like 14 years old. Their is a new manga prequel called Rozen Maiden 0 that is currently in progress so its still running.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

A little bit. The way i see it is like character development. Suigintou in our relationship still maintains all the core character traits that made her the girl I love, but shes happier now that shes with me. Shes been so lonely and isolated that now that shes with some she loves, she can really show more of her emotion I guess is the best way to put it.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

It fluctuates. There was definitely more content way before we got together, but there is still a nice stream of it.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

YES SO MUCH! I absolutely want another anime adaption of Rozen Maiden or even another manga story with Suigintou in it.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Well, the Street Fighter series started in the 80's. However Juri didn't come in until 2010 with Super SF4. Still running today though, with capcom being unable to make sensible decisions, I fear for for the series' future.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Very minimally, if at all. Really it's just inferences that can be made by information given in canon (like her having an interest in insect, specifically arachnid, documentaries). I always felt that having a waifu who deviates from her canon too much really defeats the point of loving the character. Now, there are certain instances where this is pretty necessary (like if she dies in canon or has a canon love-interest) but deviating from canon for no real reason, I feel, isn't okay.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

No, the opposite actually. Since her appearance in SSF4 both fan works and official stuff have been pretty steady, which makes sense seeing as she's easily one of the most popular characters in the series to date.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

I just hope SFV can turn itself around. The game is fun, at least imo, and it's more about playing the opponent rather than the game itself which is what bothered me about SF4. You were playing the game (execution requirements, OS tech, ect.) more than the opponent (mindgames, bait and punish, ect.) Though, another Juri-centered SF anime special would be really nice.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

She first showed up in 2002, and although she is missing an important role since Touhou 7.5, Touhou games are still coming out. The last one, Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, was published last year for Comiket 88.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

No - she is exactly how she is in the official games for me. Since Touhou canon is really essential there is a part of headcanon in how I see her, to fill missing informations. Nothing that disagrees with canon though.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

Yes, but I am not that worried sincerely. Initially I was afraid of it, but then I saw that Touhou fandom is really active - at least compared with other current fandoms - so I am sure it won't be an issue for a long time - there's still plenty of Meiling's art. Also I just accepted that this is inevitable. Disappointing, but inevitable.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

I hold out hope for her to show up as an important figure in a future game - or even better be a playable character again man. That would be fantastic. I am patiently waiting for Touhou 16, we'll see what ZUN will do.

Only in so far as I don't imagine Rachel to be a cult leader who is bitter about the past as she is depicted in Battle Isle: The Andosia War.

To me she will always be an officer of the Marine Corps on Chromos.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

Yes, what little content there was to begin with had stopped after the release of Andosia War.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

Since Blue Byte is owned by Ubisoft and when I take the current climate of the video games industry into consideration I don't allow myself to hope.

M-my waifu obscure? What absolute twattle!

>…that have no reason to feel sympathetic to me.

Don't be so hard on yourself, man. I'm happy for guys like Juribro and Junkobro whose waifus are provided with fresh new content regularly.

But I couldn't help falling in love with Rachel and while I am occasionally struck by fits of feels because of the things mentioned above I am certainly not going to abandon Rachel just because of her obscurity.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

KanColle came out in 2013, so 3 years.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Hardly, I couldn't differentiate her from her happy cheerful self anyway.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

Due to nature of the game, there hasn't been any new content whatsoever seeing there's always new girls implemented in the game. She does have plenty of official lines, so that's enough for me to interpret who she really is.

And then there's this current event being located with Bikini Atoll and having Prinz gives you significant advantage against the final boss of this event (due to the event based on Operations Crossroads), so I am quite happy with even just that.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

No, I don't think KanColle will ever die anyway and I can keep sortieing her whenever I want to nuke a boss or something.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Fate / Stay Night is 12 years old, Morte d’Arthur is 530 years old. As far as I’m concerned her story was finished with Fate / Zero and Last Episode in 2007. I don’t care about Fate / Grand Order or the other spinoff Type-Moon games.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Yes. The Arturia I love is a mixture of the character from the Fate material with the background of Malory’s books. But that character is unchanging, so I imagine some changes in her personality based on our time and experiences shared together. In my mind I’ve helped her come to terms with her past and given her optimism for the future but for the most part it's just been small natural changes and 'filling in the gaps'.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

For fan art, no, there has been a steady stream of pictures of her for a long time. I consider myself incredibly lucky that there are so many other people that enjoy drawing her and I try not to take it for granted. Finding new pictures of her is something I look forward to each day.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

A remake of F/SN with modern production values would be nice, aside from that I’m content. I could see Type-Moon doing it for the 20th anniversary of the VN, similar to what they’re doing with the Tsukihime remake.

>How old is your waifus source material, still running?

Kino's Journey splits into an anime series from 2003 that ended that same year, and a light novel series that has been around since 2001 to the present.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

As much as I possibly can, I try not to stray away from canon personality, but then again, my idea of Kino is a mix of her anime and light novel personality, so I don't know if that's considered head canoning…

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

If anything, I think it's been a steady pace, if not getting faster.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

I'm not looking forward to it, I'm very content with all 13 episodes and her 2 movies, and if I do feel disconnected from her, I can always continue reading the light novels, besides I don't want them to fuck up a follow up, and a reboot is always make or break, most of the time it's the latter.

I admit, since she's an AI made for rehabilitating brainwashed criminal children, she's kind of become my combined voice of reason and general doting wife. She still has her moments of being a spergy little cutie pie. The anime fucked up her characterization more than I ever could.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

She became my waifu pretty recently, the last six months or so, way after everyone stopped giving a shit. She still gets a little fanart every once in a while, but most of it kinda sucks. Just looking at her sprites can be good enough to melt my heart made of steel beams.

>Has the way you imagine your waifu deviated from source material?

Not really, although maybe I'm just biased.

>Has new content (including unofficial) of your waifu been slowing down considerably since she became your waifu?

Official content picked up a tiny bit, then dipped back to its usual level, and fan content is about the same. I am worried that the series ending will slow it to a

crawl, though. Might have to start commissioning or drawing again, but it won't be the same. I always get sad when fans move on to other interests.

Official sources (besides the original author) can suck a cock, though.

>Do you ever hold out hope for a reboot or another series/sequel?

There have been several retellings in other media, and the series itself is already a prequel. Something like a "daily life" spinoff would be nice, but unlikely.

More likely would be another season of the anime, which would be excruciating given what it'd cover.
