hey anons. i used to watch anime as a little kid and there was one that stole my heart from the first episode. for some reason, they only aired the first episode. i can't remember its name. i was hoping someone here would recognize it from my memory.

here's what i remember: the anime was from the 80s or 90s. it was about an intergalactic war between humans (earth vs something). both sides used gigantic robots. the pilots were teens (16-20 year olds). the main character, was a fantastic pilot. at one fight he got critically injured and suffered a memory loss due to the injury. he was captured by his enemies and they made him fight his people. last thing i remember was him being sent off after getting treatment to fight and he BTFO'd his former friends. they thought of him as a traitor after the fight. that's all i can remember. please help.

Well I don't know if you're American anon, but that sounds like Toonami's Giant Robot Week of late February 2003.

If that's they case, then I'd guess it was one of the Robotech episodes they showed.

before toonami they would show anime on scifi channel in america so it could have been something shown there

i know my first anime was gall force and i first saw it on scifi
