Hey /m/, I've been wondering, what do you guys think of /m/ related vidya? what are some of your favorites? any recommendations in particular? post 'em here.

for me, one of my favorite growing up was MS Saga: a new dawn for the PS2 (see vid related). it was a Gundam JRPG where you could build custom mobile suits from parts you gathered in dungeons and from random encounters. it was really cool and the boss battles were against the massive mobile armors like the Big Zam or antagonist Gundams like Master Gundam.

There's already a video game thread, but that is specifically about giant robots, I guess this can act as a more general /m/ vidya thread.

Are there any decent toku games? I haven't seen any.

the GBA game for Power Rangers SPD has very little to remind you it's not Dekaranger

the SFC Kamen Rider is a decent beat-em-up

FDS Kamen Rider Black is less terrible when you learn the goofy controls, like how flipping around is the best way to move because basic walk forward is (intentionally maybe?) slow like the ED

some of the Great Battle type games can be fun

GBIII is a Ye Olde Fantasy beat-em-up with Ultra, KR, and Gundam, Battle Baseball on the FC is a famicom baseball game with Godzilla through Biollante, Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Gundam

Battle Baseball has teams basically for the good guys and the bad guys, which for Godzilla means a kaiju team and a human team lead by "Professor" who wears an eyepatch.

speaking of beat 'em ups, the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers game for the SNES is pretty good too, would have made one hell of a Zyuranger game. each stage has a civilian phase, a ranger phase and a boss fight, and the last 2-3 stages have Daizyujin fighting against Satan Franke and Dora Talos. bosses for the beat 'em up stages are Dora Skeleton, Dora Goblin, Dora Argus, lamp fairy Gin/Dora Gin, and Dora Ninja.

beat em ups are great, needs to be more.

speaking of /m/ /v/ I was thinking yesterday, so many games commit a cardinal sin: you're always in the mech. start on foot. have people in the world. a mech is just a robot costume if there's no sense of scale.

fortunately the Zyu game is kinda shit so it's easy to surpass lol

Votoms on the PS2 makes a point of having you walk around, sorta a mix of GTA and Blaster Master

I've put a bunch of mileage on Battle Pinball over the years. Video Pinball on stages themed to KR, Ultraman, UC Gundam, and Roah, one of the Battle original characters iirc

There's been a few on foot games. I remember playing one on a PlayStation Underground demo disc when I was young, game was called Remote Control Dandy. Another one you could look for is Robot Alchemic Drive (R.A.D.) for the PS2.

Might as well start posting in this one since the other is 300+ posts. Did you know Votoms had 4 PS1 games? Two ACxVirtualOn reskins, one SRPG and one following the story of the original TV series.

We don't have a bump limit like other boards do, you can keep replying until a thread hits 750
