You know, that first pic made me realize that a fuckhueg bow and arrows make for some fairly decent realistic humanoid mecha weapons…
I mean, unlike a gun, you can mostly reuse arrows, and a machine with dexterous arms would then be able to quickly recover and refire them.
Only issue is I don't know how well the mechanics of a bow would scale up.

I'm not claiming a Gun wouldn't normally be a preferred ranged weapon, but we're already trying to justify a humanoid fighting machine in the first place, so we might as well go further with that kind of logic.
Maybe it's a post apocalyptic sort of deal; Yeah you can BARELY up-keep the robot itself without a proper industrial base, but good luck mass producing Tank-grade munitions on your lonesome.
So we've got humanoid robots, possibly fighting giant monsters that may or may not have come from space, and since the civilized world has ended you're left scrounging for anything you can arm your robot to fight other robots/giant monsters with.
