Of course it doesn't, but considering my own idea for a Gundam AU had a character like Kaoruko, I'm quite partial to her for non-fapping reasons.

Sekai's main-characteritius is what really brought the special down though.

Yeah, most importantly that travel to and from Arian is possible again, opening up the opportunity for Reiji to come back to grab all the Gunpla battlers to help with the inevitable Arista Wars.

Couple of other thoughts:

Shia's Catgirl thing may not have actually came out of nowhere.

Yana Kuramochi, Yuuki's maido, apparently followed him to Gunpla Academy by working as the Lunch Lady…

If Allen re-hired her when he reopened the school, she might have passed on her cat ears to Shia.

Also, is it just me, or does the model of the Gyancelot has GN drives underneath it's conical pauldrons?

The shows were only ever mildly entertaining, at best.

It had yu-gi-oh levels of horseshittery for anyone looking for any actual interesting fights though.

>oh no! They're beating us with actual strategy and a complimentary set of mobile suits!

>Don't worry, I have my deus ex machina

>oh no! This guy is way more talented than me, and my mobile suit is nearly destroyed!

>Don't worry, guts, determination, and sheer force of will shall hold together my mobile suit as I pull out a lop sided victory against a mostly unharmed pilot who is way better than me.

>oh no! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.

>Don't worry guys, I'ma win anyway because I have a natural talent at a skill based video game I've never played in my life.

It's every bad anime trope rolled into one, with a side order of "BUY THIS!!!".

Thing is Island Wars is actually a good thing to watch: You only have to sit through 20 minutes of that garbage to understand that the entirety of every episode Build Fighters Try is the exact same fucking shit, so you don't need to watch 25 episodes of JEGAN HOW ARE YOU. If anything Island Wars is probably a good replacement for watching Try in the first place. You get all the awkwardly written and stupid romcom garbage, Sekai being a Mary Sue, le ebin hyped up "cool" mobile suit that ends up doing nothing impressive (Gyancelot and ZZ Tryon), shit character design, shit animation, battles that simply end with a giant flash of light and "THE WINNER IS TEAM SEKAI".

Going to post a response to this here since I've still got a couple of days left on my 4chan ban:

>Now that /m/ has shitposted about try so much it's reminded me how ehhh Try actually was.

>Season 1 ACTUALLY played into the THEY ARE JUST MODELS that come to life.

>You had people who used Anti Beam like paint on shields and shit and like reflective armor painting on the Gundams and it was so good.

>They acknowledged that Mech's performed better because they were more delicately built and carefully painted/detailed.

>Try was just "LOL THIS GUY MADE BURNING SO IT'S THE BEST EVER + 1 x INFINITY"

>And that bothered me. there was literally nothing to counter Seiki's Burning and it literally just punched thru everything.

http://boards.4chan.org/m/thread/14705399/how-can-sunrise-make-build-fighters-good-again#p14706246

>Every episode should have been like the Fellini vs Sei or Meijin vs Renato twins. No asspull plavsky hacks. Cleary defined rules and the nature of the game like particle limits, material endurance, weight etc so there would actually be trade offs and tatics.

While I agree with this sentiment, as well as the lazy writing not being able to handle a 3V3 fight set up, Sei build hax actually provides a great means of fixing the Build Fighters Universe.

Ok, so remember how the Try Fighters are in the "Under 19" tournament?

This is supposedly the "Little League" of Gunpla Battle, thus why Sekai's Plavsky Haxz seems so incredulous; If a rank amateur is pulling this shit off, how crazy is the PRO LEAGUE getting?

But, when you really THINK about it, Sekai's Dragon Ball Z bullshit is just simply Plavsky Haxz; All of his Phoenixes and Punch Beams are, in essence, just usual Particle Beam spam, just manifested differently because Sekai's martial arts training gives him an innate understanding of how Plavsky Particles can be manipulated by the will of the user.

Now, while Sekai's talent for this Particle manipulation does give him a natural edge, it's not actually something we didn't see before in Season 1 (Master Chinnan's secret technique for blasting all the water out of an aquatic field, Nils' Particle Fa Jin), while Sekai's is just so blatant and BLUNT with it.

Sekai has been blowing through the kiddie tournaments mostly via brute force Beam Spam, its just the METHOD he spams is so uncommon most Gunpla enthusiast don't realize how to counter it.

But the universe already HAS an anti-beam spam counter from the first season; Sei Absorb Shield!

The ONE time Sekai got hit with an Absorb System, it completely shut down all of his Assimilation Bullshit, and using it AFTER that over taxed him to the point of fainting.

Being able to conjure Plavsky Particles via sheer Willpower is still a good trump card, but if you waste it on a bunch of absorbed Beam Punches that you've done nothing but exhaust yourself AND powered up your opponent.

So if Sekai ever actually DOES get to the Big Leagues of Gunpla Battle, he's probably going to quickly learn that he can't simply Houou Haoh-Ken his way to victory, and HOPEFULLY grow both in how he applies particle manipulation and as a fighter in general.

I'm thinking something like the Kamiki Burning BLADE Gundam…

>Mass-scale battles like the one in Fumina's introduction in TRY. That lets you do theme teams a lot better.

>>IBO team of melee-only

GOD DAMN IT 4CHAN!

I've been entertaining the idea of a Build Fighters 'verse version of IBO for a few weeks now based around this premise…

Tekkaden would be a "Gunpla Gang," a group of poorfag delinquents who participate in mass battles with cheap grunts, often making due with home made weapons like using an iron nail as a beat stick.

Mika is their berserking manlet freak of an Ace, years of picking fights over his height have made him a master in Tekkaden's preferred style of brutal street-style fighting, but fights SO damned hard he disintegrates normal Gunpla and has to make use of an extra durable "Build Barbatos" inner frame.

Orga has a custom "Gusion Kuroro" with a Tokusatsu flare.

Kudelia is the Rich Girl who just transferred in under mysterious circumstances… Turns out she's got the same berserking temper as Mika, ends up transferring schools a lot after beating the shit out of people.

Fumitan is Kudelia's maido pushing her into Gunpla Battle for her own reasons… Her unknown, one-sided Maid School rivalry with Yana Kuramochi.

Gjallarhorn are the local Police.

Crank is a retired Lieutenant who got Ein on the Force, he runs the local Gunpla shop Tekkadan frequences/pretty much steals from, but he let's them get away with it since Gunpla Battle is a lot better than regular Street Fighting.

Ein is the rookie officer on a personal crusade to bust Tekkadan for their repeated slights against "Lieutenant Crank."

Gali is a Gunpla Enthusiast with a fancy for Knight-themed kits.

McGillis is the department's creepy lolicon who everyone is sure is a pedo.

Carta is the overly theatrical officer who get's carried away with Ein's crusade…

That's one of the more irritating points of Try; There are actually NICE Robots, like the R-Gyagya, Powered Cardigan GM, or Tryon 3, but they are either relegated to side characters or replaced with unoriginal rehashes…

I mean, even the Leopald Da Vinchi was alright for a basic "Walking arsenal Gundam-type" kit.
