Going to post a response to this here since I've still got a couple of days left on my 4chan ban:

>Now that /m/ has shitposted about try so much it's reminded me how ehhh Try actually was.
>Season 1 ACTUALLY played into the THEY ARE JUST MODELS that come to life.
>You had people who used Anti Beam like paint on shields and shit and like reflective armor painting on the Gundams and it was so good.
>They acknowledged that Mech's performed better because they were more delicately built and carefully painted/detailed.
>Try was just "LOL THIS GUY MADE BURNING SO IT'S THE BEST EVER + 1 x INFINITY"
>And that bothered me. there was literally nothing to counter Seiki's Burning and it literally just punched thru everything.

>Every episode should have been like the Fellini vs Sei or Meijin vs Renato twins. No asspull plavsky hacks. Cleary defined rules and the nature of the game like particle limits, material endurance, weight etc so there would actually be trade offs and tatics.
While I agree with this sentiment, as well as the lazy writing not being able to handle a 3V3 fight set up, Sei build hax actually provides a great means of fixing the Build Fighters Universe.
Ok, so remember how the Try Fighters are in the "Under 19" tournament?
This is supposedly the "Little League" of Gunpla Battle, thus why Sekai's Plavsky Haxz seems so incredulous; If a rank amateur is pulling this shit off, how crazy is the PRO LEAGUE getting?
But, when you really THINK about it, Sekai's Dragon Ball Z bullshit is just simply Plavsky Haxz; All of his Phoenixes and Punch Beams are, in essence, just usual Particle Beam spam, just manifested differently because Sekai's martial arts training gives him an innate understanding of how Plavsky Particles can be manipulated by the will of the user.
Now, while Sekai's talent for this Particle manipulation does give him a natural edge, it's not actually something we didn't see before in Season 1 (Master Chinnan's secret technique for blasting all the water out of an aquatic field, Nils' Particle Fa Jin), while Sekai's is just so blatant and BLUNT with it.
Sekai has been blowing through the kiddie tournaments mostly via brute force Beam Spam, its just the METHOD he spams is so uncommon most Gunpla enthusiast don't realize how to counter it.
But the universe already HAS an anti-beam spam counter from the first season; Sei Absorb Shield!
The ONE time Sekai got hit with an Absorb System, it completely shut down all of his Assimilation Bullshit, and using it AFTER that over taxed him to the point of fainting.
Being able to conjure Plavsky Particles via sheer Willpower is still a good trump card, but if you waste it on a bunch of absorbed Beam Punches that you've done nothing but exhaust yourself AND powered up your opponent.
So if Sekai ever actually DOES get to the Big Leagues of Gunpla Battle, he's probably going to quickly learn that he can't simply Houou Haoh-Ken his way to victory, and HOPEFULLY grow both in how he applies particle manipulation and as a fighter in general.
I'm thinking something like the Kamiki Burning BLADE Gundam…
