I don't make much money and I don't want to maintain a perpetual subscription to a software like Adobe CC or Toon Boom (even though the prices are very reasonable); after the somewhat disappointing launch of OpenToonz I've decided it might be time to go back to Flash CS5, which I purchased a long time ago and never made anything of note with.
After all these years, have any plugins been released that improve the brush or overall workflow of CS5 that you're aware of?

I've actually been wondering this too.
What would be stopping someone from just torrenting Photoshop? Are there any free programs that anyone can recommend that are as good, if not better than Photoshop?

Krita is a spectacular free art program and they now have an animation feature that is a bit better than Photoshop's, too. Shortly after making this thread I learned that the earliest flash that's able to export HTML5 is CS5.5 so I'm basically fucked as far as using this goes-very depressing because I paid for it unlike what a lot of people choose to do (though it did come with Photoshop CS5 which has and will continue to serve me well in the years to come).
A license to Flash alone is only $20 a month so it's actually very reasonable, but I'm probably going to hold off. I'm working on a game so animating in Krita should be sufficient for the time being.

Will vouch for Krita as well. Very nice program.
Also, holy shit I never knew it got an animation features. Was that part of the 3.0 update?

Yeah, the animation beta was out for a month or two but now it's official.
