Why do stupid people have freedom? If they're bound to always be outsmarted, then they can never be made equal, unless we lower the average IQ down to a universal level.
They're free as in free to act within the restrictions of our legal system of justice. Freedom makes any sense only within those social bounds. Outside that it's only whim and power with nothing to justify or rebut it.
Like every single other action, if you take it all the way back to its basis, it becomes absurd. We base our ethical theory of private property because even though it's impossible to give a completely non-arbitrary definition of what and how much of it can be someone's property when first acquired, at least after that it becomes an objective constant. To have order we need certainty. The more of it the better. If only existence itself weren't absurd, everything would be perfect. Humans aren't very good at making sense of inconsistencies. Imagine if the laws of physics also randomly changed every single day. There is no known reason why they should exist at all, but at least they do and remain static.
