Good for them. I don't consider democratic consensus on to have bearing on the truth. Bush is further right than Elizabeth Warren and possibly Nancy Pelosi. But his policies and his Presidency weren't all that different qualitatively from his successor. He may be to the right compared to today's left, but that says more about today's left than it does about him. Neoconservativism is just progressivism driving at the moment speed limit. And once again, I should stress that the ideology is directly inspired by Leon Trotsky's ideas. And most people, probably 90%, agree that Trotsky was a leftist.

After he got exiled, Trotsky started pushing his own thoughts on establishing the communist order more enthusiastically. TL;DR he believed that the optimal path to communism wasn't bureaucracy the way Lenin and Stalin thought, but an empowered imperial state which would "liberate" all the peoples of the world from their oppressive beliefs and impose communism upon them. Replace "communism" with "democracy", and you create the spitting image of neoconservatism today. The intellectual founders of neoconservatism–Irving Kristol, Nathan Glazer, Sidney Hook, and Albert Wohlstetter–were anti-Stalin leftists throughout the 30s and 40s. They just re-branded their anti-Stalinism as anti-communism, and got people to call them conservatives, despite being anything but.

I get what you're going for, it really is shit that the Overton Window has shifted so fucking far that people formerly considered on the better half of Trotsky are right-wing, but:

1 - That hasn't happened recently.

2 - The meaning of words do change and are unfortunately dictated by the mass of people.

The krauts probably weren't harping on about the money multiplier or the velocity of money, but in all practical respects, yes. They circulated fiat currency into existence as a debt to be paid back by citizens in the future, spent it all on makework infrastructure, and pointed to the now-inflated GDP as sign of success. These are all pretty textbook Keynesian strategies. Although the NatSocs took Keynesianism one step further than the actual Keynesians with a couple new tricks. First is the manner in which they plundered newly-annexed territory to cover debts back home. Second is their creation of MEFO bills. Not content with merely inflating the Reichsmark, the Reich issued these industrial promissory notes as well, similar to Lincoln"s greenbacks. They played a shell game with these two currencies, constantly shuffling debt from one to the other in order to hide the extent of inflation. Ironically, this is perhaps the most Jewish monetary scheme I've ever seen, and it came from the NatSocs.
