If your fingerprints aren't already in the system, is it worth keeping them out of the system in 2019 (USA)?

A hiring company wants me to submit finger prints in addition to standard background check info. I'm inclined to tell them to go fuck their hat, and move on to other opportunities.

This is highly sketchy IMO, unless this is for government jobs.

Private sector, bank related (no involvement with money though).

My understanding is that once you submit prints to be run through the FBI database for any reason including background check, they are in there forever.

The Police convince most grade schools to bring the students on a field trip to the Police stations without a field trip permission slip.

The Police act like it is a game, and convince the Children to submit their prints into the system.

No parental consent.

>private sector, bank related

Anything to do with the banks will come under heavy scrutiny by the Feds. The banking sector is ao heavily regulated, calling it "private" is pretty deceptive imo.

It's up to you if you want to stick with it. If you have committed no crimes and plan on committing no crimes in the future you have no reason to be afraid of giving them your prints.

Additionally, you can always burn off your finger prints before you actually give them your finger prints. Wether it is a smart idea or not is not a call for me to make.
