Hey there, /kind/! Was wondering if you guys could recommend me some particularly cathartic anime. I'm aware there's a /kind/ recommends thread, and an anime thread, but I figured it'd be easier if I just made a thread about the specific anime type I want. (or maybe I should've just posted this in one of the other existing threads, if so, sorry. No one was posting in those threads.)

I've seen Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop, and Welcome to the NHK, and I would consider those cathartic, the rest I've seen haven't been that much. Oh, I'm cool with anything genre wise, by the way. Thanks, I appreciate it!

A lot of good stuff was already named, I suggest more work affiliated with Watanabe-San, such as Samurai Champloo, Terror in Resonance and Michiko to Hatchin.

I also recommend FLCL

I have actually seen this one with a good friend of mine, and it wasn't my thing. Which sucks. I think a huge turn off is a lot of the main characters felt kind of emotionless. (or maybe I'm just used to over exaggerated mannerisms?}

Oh, dude! I am so sorry, I forgot to mention FLCL in the shows I've watched. That show was pretty great, but I never really considered it feelsy. i guess everyone feels to different material.

I want to thank everyone for participating in the thread so far, these are some wonderful recommendations and I will do my best to check these all out.
