Unless this is happening in other states, this doesn't happen in NSW, NSWPOL and the Firearms Registry has lost so many court cases over events like this im surprised they even have a budget anymore.
here in NSW they have to call and arrange a time that's good for you to inspect your guns usually once a year if you dont live in places like Lakemba or Campbelltown (New Iraq), the job for firearms inspection is also given to those cops who are one infraction away from being kicked out of the force, so when they come over and look down the barrel and pull the trigger the final dangerous handling report will have them out of the force.
The NSWPOL cant just kick down the door while your not home to inspect firearms, if the licensed owner isn't home, they cant visit. SSAA NSW has been harping about it lately and loads of lawyers now advertise gun right violations as part of their services. Nothing like an illegal seizure of firearms and a $500 dollar enfield somehow breaking in transport earning the shooter a couple hundred grand compensation.
