Recently the government in my country is lifting gun control a little bit, these are the ones they allow right now, that being said, can the /k/ experts tell me about the ups and downs of them? of course I will be doing my research too but I also trust your experience.

Mexico, the government is going from oligarchy/state merchantilism to socialist currently, or at least that's the goal of the current president, it came to my surprise we are getting a bit less gun control, maybe this was passed from an earlier legislation.

>glock

Expensive for what it is in the US (no idea elsewhere) and shitty trigger, but functional. Is the law actually so vague that is just says glock in 9x19? That's at least 4 different guns.

>Jericho

Are you a Spike cosplayer? I'd say don't bother if you're not, but real CZ-75 variants aren't on your list so it's OK.

>Semi P2226 Tacops

Never heard of it and can't find any mention of it. Did you mean Sig P226?

>P320

This one is interesting. In the US civilian market the modular thing is pretty much a gimmick and 80% fuel. If those are really the only 7 pistols allowed, you might have a reason to pick it since if you can acquire the right grip frame (and possibly slide) it's the smallest pistol on the list.

>92FS

Gruntproof and reliable but fairly heavy and had some shitty magazines early on.

Go to a shooting range and try each of them out, plink away at a target. You'll like one better than the others.

An SAS commando told me he'd rather have a Glock in dirty conditions, something about its design makes it self cleaning and jam resistant.

The Beretta 92FS/M9 was always a good looking gun. Italians know how to make things look purty for sure. I remember it had a nasty design defect with the upper coming loose from, the receiver? Make sure you don't get an early one.

SIGs on that list are SIG USA not Sauer so caveat empor, the P320 is interesting if you're restricted to what you can have but if not just buy Glocks, they're likely cheaper and you will have easy access to good accessories (sights, holsters) even with a limited market.

If you don't like plastic / striker fired guns then Beretta 92 are very good, FNP are good too but they're likely pricier.

Basically the weapons you would be able to own with the license, in this country is mostly bureaucracy but way before that you couldn't even claim self-defense if you killed someone who broke into your home, the Human Rights Commission always defends the human rights of delinquents first and the only way to not get in jail was to comply with a very specific scenario, as in, the perpetrator had a gun and he shot first with the intent to kill, then you could fire back (if you had a weapon with a license) or make them submit by any other means, even then you could be charged with assault.

Gaston Glock removed about 25% of the chamber and thus lowered the feeding ramp angle. That's it, no special "self cleaning," miracle, he just straight up exposed a bunch of brass by removing part of the chamber. That's why Glocks go kaboom more often than other guns.

License is been almost the same but there are no weapon shops at all, the only "hard" requirement is the National Military Service card which you would get by doing some kind of social service every weekend for a year once you turn 18 years old, still, for a long time it was literal military service, you could also be sorted to just wait for a year without doing anything but it is subject to much corruption so the wealthy can skip the service and the military service has to offset that with "sorting" the others into the service anyway.

If you're that limited then I suggest getting the FN 5.7x25mm pistol. Check and see if they will allow that caliber because if it's for personal defense, you never know if the bandits will have vests. If not, then I say grab yourself the Glock 17. They never die unless you put about 500 - 1500 +P+ rounds through them. There is where the exploding glock meme comes from.

I trained on an old P226 .45, some glock 9/.45s, and my old CZ-75 compact and they were just fine. Are you sure that they don't allow CZ because that is a piece based off the original Browning Hi-Power, so it's pretty gud.

depends on which gun best fits YOUR hand.

I tried Glock VS XD grip side by side in gun store and it was clearly Glock for me, and that was later proven when I compared me shooting both side by side for accuracy…..yet some noted shooter was saying the XD's grip "forced you to have better more correct grip".

Glock 19 3rd Gen is considered by many to be perfect. Gen 4 has had issues stovepiping and doesn't add anything except maybe back-strap sizes.

Glock 19 is pretty good for CCW but also shoots like a full size.

It might be an extra $100 more than close clones like S&W but its $100 better in overall build.

I carried a gen 4 glock 21 for roughly three years as my duty pistol and won a few local shooting tournaments with it. It shot pretty well. Granted, I know your milage may vary, but I thought it was a pretty nice gun. I've never CCW'd a glock (and especially one as huge as the g21), so I can't really tell you how it would feel pressed up on you. After three years of climbing all over shit and maneuvering, the rear sight (made of hard plastic) are all dented and chewed up from being banged around in a two stage retention holster; so you should definitely look into getting better sights installed.

I don't have experience with the g17 and g19, but I really can't see them being radically different. I do have one of the single stack glocks as a range toy and it shoots well within 10m.

You also won't go wrong with the beretta 92. Unlike the glock it's got a certain sexiness to it. But for some reason it gets super filthy super fast, so be prepared to clean alot of you get it.

Everyone in my building raves about sig sauer pistols (including my wife), but I don't I simply don't see what they see in them. I think the hype carries them further than they deserve, but they certainly will get the job done.

Ultimately, what I tell people is to hold them in your hand. Play with the controls. Reload them a few times. Bring it up a firing stance a few times from low ready. Eventually a few will stand out to you and a few will feel awkward. Go with the one that feels the most comfortable in your hand. Good luck.

>Mexicans who give a fuck about their gun laws

I didn't realize those existed.

Anyway, the Beretta is a good option, even literal borderline retards in the US military are capable of using and maintaining it, so if you have zero experience with pistols that's probably a good choice to at least familiarize yourself assuming it's not out of your price range.

The Jericho is supposed to be pretty similar to a CZ, since it's based on it, though I haven't had a chance to fingerfuck one and check out the sights, but I can say it's very easy to acquire a sight picture with my CZ.

The slide is thinner than most other handguns' though, so it might be a little awkward if you've gotten used to thicker slides or you have fat fingers.

If you're in a shit part of Mexico, buy what people around you have, or at the very least stick to the same cartridge. I ran into a problem about a year ago with my M70A where I realized magazines suddenly cost almost as much as the gun, and nobody in my circle of friends knew how to work a Tokarev, which meant they had no clue on why a clean gun would jam every second round. It's a fun gun, but having that common knowledge, common pool of spare parts, and the ability to stay at your friend's house and feel just as natural with his gun in case yours isn't in reach are all valuable factors.
