What do I do? I think some salts were left on the metal when they finished the rifle. Do I just blast it with piss or what?

That's why I store my weapons with silica packets.

Its not moisture thats the issue. As parts that are in the "white" and other guns are fine. Its something to do with the finish they put on they didn't wash off completely. Heard of others having the same issue but not sure of how to resolve it.

Silica packets are not very good at taking moisture out of the air btw. Better to just put a dehumidifier in the room.

If a gun is hot blued while it's still assembled, then bluing salts will get trapped in all the nooks and crannies and will corrode your metal overtime. I'm not saying that's what they did, but it's a possibility if you think that there's salts on it still. You could disassemble everything and clean it really well to get all the parts that would normally be inaccessible.

Dish soap? Boiling water? Specific products meant to clean metal? What do I use, fam?

I give my parts a bath in mineral spirits, scrub them with toothbrushes and pipe cleaners, and apply something like Ballistol or Eezox afterwards. You could boil your parts if you're really convinced that there's salts on the metal.

Yeah Im sure it is. Rust only appears in crevices even though they are so soaked with oil that the rust is bleeding with the oil over time. No way normal moisture could do this.

Fucking Century had to know about this. I bet some rifles came in rusty as hell. Between this shit and what happened to my CZ999 I will never buy a single thing from then again. Not worth it.

Not only this but they had a whole shit ton of metal shavings, from when they cut out the mag well, were under the front trunnion. Theres a small crevice under it thats also used as a mounting fixture for the front handguard. Completely full of metal shavings like someone just shoved them in there or something stupid. Was wondering why I kept finding a single sliver of metal everytime I would shoot it. Also one of the magazines that came with my AK was dented and the follower would get jammed in it. Basically junk. Been meaning to make a Metro 2033 mag with it. They didn't even give me yugo/serb/croat bho mags. Just rusty random normal ones, and probably sold them if any bho came with it and gave me rusty junk ones.

Besides that the CZ999 was shipped poorly and the second magazine gnarled up the aluminum frame a bit on the grip of the gun. Is just a small spot but the guns otherwise fine so I accepted the transfer. For $300 you couldn't do much better when I got that gun but you could do worse.

Anyway I have been meaning to try boiling it just wasn't sure if there was a better way.

I hear ya. I worked on a Taurus/Rossi rifle once and it looked fine from the outside, but the second I disassembled it, you could see that none of the parts had been deburred and someone had hogged out part of the reciever with a dremel to get the magazine tube to fit properly. I could see century doing that, assembling a rifle, then realizing it needs to be refinished so they just toss the whole thing in the tank minus the wood instead of disassembling it properly.
