I am open to your opinions of course. The users make these decisions.

Here's my opinion and the appeal to Tenko at the same time:
/jp/ never had an universal board-tan as there was nothing board-tan to oppose and/or complement her. To elaborate, there have been the ones like maid, Cornelia, OC-tan, but their interactions being contained within /jp/. We could make a case for an 8/jp/ mascot, but only if the intent was to have her interact with hypothetical mascots of other /jp/ boards, thus still preserving the idea of being self-contained. In this case, however, the "mascot" would be used for showing we're a part of this website and, frankly, I'd prefer not have /jp/ be seen as a part of 8chan, but a part of /jp/ environment hosted on 8chan.
