This is a catch-all thread for those questions that don't merit a lot of discussion and can be answered with a simple answer or reference. It is not meant to be a blog or general discussion thread. If discussion of a particular question lasts more than 4-5 posts, then the question does - in fact - deserve its own thread.
Example: "Where can I learn Arabic?" or "Do I have to change my name if I convert?"
Answers should be backed up with citation from Qur'an and Hadith. Petty arguments will be deleted.

Yes, there are times when I give in but I go months without fapping. The longest I’ve made it is 2 years. The first 2 weeks are the hardest when starting out, then it is still hard the first month. After that it gets easier, you just have to keep at it and stay committed.

Why God didn't create most men attractive unlike women? Why there is so much discrepancy? I can't get over my ugliness as a man. Women disliked me all my life. I always felt inferior. This killed my confidence and psychology over the years. Is it a test? I hope God won't punish me for hating my own face. Please don't gaslight me.

>Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If your parents and children and siblings and spouses and extended family and the wealth you have acquired and the trade you fear will decline and the homes you cherish—˹if all these˺ are more beloved to you than Allah and His Messenger and struggling in His Way, then wait until Allah brings about His Will. Allah does not guide the rebellious people.” - At-Tawbah:24
your problem is similar to materialism, it's your problem for being obsessed with money, either you rich or poor you shouldn't get depressed over it
the only thing we should be depressed about is for not being able to serve Allah, that's the entire purpose of our creation, other than that is irrelevant

You can find some women that are not entirely interested in what you look like. They are more interested in how firm you are in the deen and how good of a provider you will be for them. You just have to be patient and look for these types of women.

Why do a good number of Muslims pretend as if there is a clash of Western 'Christians' vs Muslims when, in reality, said 'Christians' (though nominally via baptism), are cynical or atheist liberal elites who want to invade the Islamic world? Either for economic reasons or because of their liberal ideology, e.g feminism.
Example of this is where people draw parallels to Middle Eastern wars to the Crusades. They have no comparison whatsoever. George Bush might pander to Baptists for their weird zionist eschatology, but could you really say he was a Godfrey of Bouillon? Lol.

In the christian faith one of the things explained as being the origin of the races is that Black people/Africans are descended from Ham, Semites by shem, and others by Japeth. (there may be a fourth I cannot remember), and I was wondering, is there a similar concept in Islam wherein the races have different origins from different individuals (who of course take heed from Adam and eve), and what does the Quran and Hadith say about this?
And no, I am not a racist. Just curious..

I disagree with some of these people.. I have heard people talk about hadiths discerning between descendants of Abraham/Ibrahim and others… descendants of Muhammad sallalahu alayhi wassalam… etc..
the whole "juj-majooj" prophecy etc.. it really depends on who you talk to..
There are muslims that have only read the Quran, but are completely faithful in various parts of various hadith even though they haven't really studied it.. and then there are muslims that haven't even read the Quran and live their life by hadith.. and then there are muslims who've read it all and dismiss the hadith as blaspheme… (the last group is generally shunned, yet the Quran itself states that you should need no other book as the Quran is itself perfect, complete and interpretable by all, ie no add'l interpretative guides necessary)

The Quran itself says that it isn't the only authority.
[4:59] O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger
This means that we have to take the hadith into account. You cannot use ONLY the Quran, that is what Quranists do. They are not only refuted by countless hadith (statements that are not blasphemes) they are refuted by the Quran itself.
He says that there are >no add'l interpretative guides necessary.
That is not a fact. That is a load of Quranist bull🤬. You cannot have Islam without the Sunnah.

The quran is the word of Allah, and that is the ultimate authority of Islam. Mohammed is a messenger and as such he can misinterpret the poetry or forget things as he is still susceptible to human error. The hadith, “And were it not for Eve, no woman would ever betray her husband” is a contridiction of Quran 7:19 to 7:23 which places blame on both Adam and Eve. Hadiths are also retellings, and while they can be in truth, all are certain to be in truth and are susceptible to the same human errors of forgetfulness and misinterpretation. Hope this helps.

Fellow Believer,
There is never any contradiction between the Qur'an and a true and faithfully-narrated Hadith. The Prophet's words can never contradict the Qur'an. If there is any apparent contradiction between a Hadith and the Qur'an, then the error is either in the one narrating the Hadith, or in the reader's own understanding.

Denying the Sunnah of Muhammad(pbuh) is denying Allah, not even shia treat it that way.
>He who obeys the Messenger has obeyed Allah [4:80]
>And obey Allah and the Messenger that you may obtain mercy. [3:132]
>It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error. [33:36]
Allah ensures his prophets understand the revelation and protects them from the kind of mistakes you mentioned so they may guide who they are meant to guide, this case isn't just with Muhammad(pbuh), it's for every prophet. Of course Allah will make the final prophet to humanity do a perfect work.
>This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion [5:3]
The meaning of the Hadith is Eve eat first which made Adam incline to eat or that Adam eat first and she didn't advise him not to deciding to sin with him. Either way Adam and Eve together have wronged themselves. Muhammad(pbuh) never contradicts the Qur'an, kaffir.
The Qur'an and Sunnah are revelation from Allah, that's agreed upon.
>By the star when it descends,
>Your companion [i.e., Muḥammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,
>Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
>It is not but a revelation revealed, [53:1-4]
You can't pray or understand the Qur'an without the Sunnah.

We don't see them as "the jews" because each is an individual. In general, however, we treat anyone who believes in the oneness of God with respect. Religious Jews believe in God's oneness, as said in Torah, "Hear, o Israel, thy God is one." (Deuteronomy 6:4) Otherwise, we treat them like we do anyone else. If they attack us, we defend ourselves. If they leave us alone, we leave them alone.
However, if one Jew attacks us, we don't see it as "all jews attack us!"

None that I know of. Wait, sometimes I give my jewish friend a ride if he needs it. He doesn't have a car.
>if I told you orthodox Jews are spreading degeneracy
My immediate reaction would be "which ones?" Because, see, just because some orthodox do something doesn't mean all orthodox do that thing. We get it all the time, too. Since some tribes of Muslims in Africa cut little girl's clits out, it somehow means Islam condones it. Or that time some Saudis flew a couple planes into some buildings and suddenly ALL Muslims are terrorists/jihadists/durka durkas.
If you're here to try to "drop some redpills", you should know that we have been an enemy of /pol/ since /pol was created and that sort of behavior isn't allowed on this board.

Kinda depends on what you consider "degeneracy". I'm sure there are things we tolerate that others may think of as "degeneracy" - for example, Islam recognizes transgender people and some Muslim nations actually pay for hormone therapy and surgery since it is considered a treatable affliction.
But if you mean pornography, drunkenness, etc, then yeah, that sort of thing is against Islamic teachings. It's also against Orthodox Jewish teachings, which is why we wouldn't say something like "the jews promote degeneracy" because Judaism does not condone degeneracy.

Some do say to avoid drawing humans in general, but the arguments against it are pretty weak. I've also seen arguments that non-lewd anime is acceptable because such creatures were never living in the first place. Perhaps you should pray earnestly on it and the answer will come.

We know that Islam has very specific dress requirements for both men and women, but what of the mukhanathun? Then again, all Arabic style clothing is pretty damn androgynous anyway. Men wear full length dresses, etc. So maybe adopt an Arabic style? Otherwise, I'd say just be comfortable and protect your modesty.

op of >>43709 here,
I understand your position, regarding drawing humans, especially that hadith about one of the companions telling the image maker "to draw backgrounds or the like", indicating that the image maker used to draw humans and living things as we conventially understand. However, what im shaky about is, what harm is there to drawing if your intention is not to challenge god if at all? is it because you are creating objects that god originally created? if so, then god created trees, the sky, rocks and everything in between.
>but those are non-living!
no, trees, flowers, insects, flies, etc etc are all living beings as with the statement "all creation submits to him", key word "creation"
Is electricty challenging god because you are challenging god's source of light? or are we just approximating god's original creation? I just feel like all these ahadiths and legal
exegesis just make no sense at all

i just figured out recently that the quran describes heaven in a very medieval fashion. the wine, the meat, the fruit, the fancy palaces and the rivers that run beneath them. all of these blessings are heavily rooted in what the medieval people felt desirable and worthy of pursuit. (well except for the maidens which are a universal pleasure across all different cultures and times for the heterosexual man). with most of these activities having no real biological necessity to them and meant for pure pleasure and luxury. like drinking heavens wine and chilling in its sceneries. why would god depict his blessings as what the medieval man imagined as "heaven"?
the only satisfying workaround that i find is when god has stated "you may have whatever your hearts desire" in heaven. but that opens the pandora box to what is allowed and whats not. and whats constitutes a worthy pleasure and whats not. a sadist who derives pleasure from torturing people might decide to not act upon those temptations in this life and save them till he is in heaven. would that be even allowed? would god creates people designed for him to torture and please himself? and if thats not the case then why is the pleasure limited to those medieval activities? dont get me wrong i wouldn't trade heaven for hell obv but none of that actually interest me. not the food nor the drink and i would not even bother with the jewelry and gold. except for the maidens (again. the universal pleasure). i derive pleasure doing the hobbies i love. hanging out with my friends. playing video games. and cuddle with a cute gf. im a man born in the 21 century afterall. is that even possible in heaven?

Eugenics was a scientific topic that was entertained for a bit, but was soon shunned by the academic and scientist community for its unethical implications.
Lobotomies were a medical practice that involved hammering a spike up one's eye socket, and it was ceased after doctors pointed out how rubbish it was.
The same thing can happen with transhumanism.

what are the views on humans with gender dysphoria, both your views and scholars, quran, hadith? Whether they act on their urges to imitate women, or repress them.
It's analogous to the homosexuality issue, in that if a male wants to look like a girl, but follows God's directions instead of giving in, he won't be living very happy. He might be constantly self-conscious and depressed. But he has to follow God's directions anyway, even if he doesn't understand why.

There's two types, those that are perverted men with a fetish (called Autogynephilia), or those who have a genetic or hormonal condition that makes them feminine or asexual. For example ppl born with dysfunctional genitals such as hermaphrodites, those usually pick the side they are closer to or what they feel they are. But that's so statistically rare, that most who believe they have dysphoria simply have Autogynephilia.

For 99% of ppl gender is binary, you are either XX or XY, but very rarely some can have different chromosomes, but even then one gender will be dominant. And it's very unlikely that transgender have a genetic disorder, it's more likely Autogynephilia. Maybe they feel like a woman, but if his or her chromosomes are normal, then it becomes a psychological disorder not a biological one.

i agree that "changing the creation" argument is flawed by itself. anon forgot something important to mention to make that argument sound and reasonable. which is the purpose of changing the creation. if you go to the gym everyday you are by theory changing your current stock of muscle cells and what not. now you have the option to put that gains into labor that would benefit the society and please god or store it all for yourself for show aka indulgence. one option will yield better rewards from god and the other will be embarrassing when questioned about it before god.
apply that to current gender theory epidemic and you will have the same analogy. as it does not seek to enable people to do what god intended of them to do in this life because it deviates with its view on sex from creation purpose to purely pleasure. it seeks indulgence this way. and in the process you end up with broken people unable to use their reproductive organs for their intended purposes due to cross sex hormones. their suicide rates dont diminish and will have to be put on lifelong medical treatment. HRT doesnt give the desired result alone and auxiliary surgeries are costly. SRS will result in a faulty organ that will not function as the real thing at best and at worst will have nightmarish results. and most horrifying of all, you have kids dragged into this whole mess too. 5-6 years ago people warned that the statics on this gender craze are still new and infant and should not be held as a gospel when preaching such ideology. especially for kids. those people were labeled transphobes/homophobes/bigots etc.. today the detransitioners who are coming out in big numbers are a testimony of what happens when society let go of common sense. im willing to bet that sadly most of those people were lured into this cult of sexuality by either pressure or lack of better thing to do in their lives as it is obvious they did not have a serious medical condition that needed all that attention and treatment in the first place. yet those detrans today will have to live with the everlasting damage they have done to their bodies (some of them are kids with no prior sex experience whatsoever mind you) and no amount of regret will undo that. while the fiend activists who lured them there in the first place and adamantly pushed them down that path without any shred of common sense to question the false Woke God are sleeping guilt free knowing that they have made the world a better place.
there is something astoshingly bizzare and crazy about this lust for changing and redefining everything. which can only come from the lack of content and complacency with what nature and god have given us.
just my 2 cents.

im curious what examples can you find in slamic legacy and literature where a non binary understanding of sex/gender was implied or tolerated. if the aspect of "being between a man and a woman" has always existed in history then muslims societies must have experienced that and found a way to assimilate those individuals.
im merely curious about this phenomenan. all i know about it in regard to islamic way of living is: 1) it considers non hetero relations as sinful and against the guidance of the quran. 2) no matter how many trans individuals there has been in the past this transgender phenomenon only exploded recently and we've never seen their numbers before as a society. let alone this ideology being employed by corporates and politicians and turning it into a cult. which is the main point of contention.

how can you measure this "woman in a man's body" and know it is the same as "woman in a woman's body"? how do you quantify that? there is no way around that other that what a person "feels" they should be. and when you get into the "feels" territory you get all sorts of reasons to attribute to. not necessarily biological and definitely not scientific. so please don't give us this "muh sayians" crap. if you read a little bit about the history of this gender theory and how "rabid onset gender dysphoria" bs came to be and all the skepticism around it that ought to raise a little bit suspicion to anyone with common sense.
yes we do oversimplify things for the sake of kids but we also tell them what they should be and what they should or should not do even when we provide them with the full picture. thats the whole point of being a parent. we guide kids through their early lives because they are susceptible and vulnerable to all kinds of pressure. bringing up your kids to believe that they "might have been born into the wrong vessel" bs and if they dont become pharma junkies at such young age they will end up killing themselves is a good recipe for all sorts of mental problems in the future. your kids are not immune to corporate predation nor to peer pressure. why on earth then do we see the numbers of trans explode within one age group more than other demographics? it is because kids who are more likely to buy into that as they have no prior sexual experience and dont yet understand their gender role in society.

Before around 1570, "intoxicated" meant "poisoned". That would pretty much render even the act of breathing to be haram because the tiny traces of poison gas in the atmosphere become toxic in higher concentrations. I think it's a matter of context, really, but the Arabic word used is general "sakran", which specifically means "drunk". Caffeine can't make you drunk, so …. no.

What is the minimum number of people that must be present at a wedding? I believe only the bride's father and 2 witnesses are required. So would a marriage be valid if only me,wife, our parents,2 witnesses and imam be present at the wedding?

2 adult witnesses is enough. It doesn't matter who they are. Islam doesn't authorize any official clergy, so don't worry about an imam. You're signing a contract (nikah). A ceremony is optional, but any knowledgeable Muslim can officiate a ceremony and also count as one of your witnesses. So if her father is there, that's 1 witness and if you're having a ceremony, the officiant would be the 2nd witness.

That sort of thing is sadly common. When I first converted a "friend" of mine tricked me into eating pork and laughed about it. I sat him down and explained to him that pork is not a magic off-switch for Islam. Even if I intentionally eat it, I am still Muslim. I have merely sinned and must ask forgiveness. If I am tricked into eating it, then the sin is on the trickster and Allah is always watching.

Obviously not because you are not allowed to disobey Allah, no matter who commands you to.
submission
noun
the action or fact of accepting or yielding to a superior force or to the will or authority of another person.
This is how it is in Islam regarding women's behavior to their husbands. The men are in a higher position of authority, therefor the women must submit to that authority. It isn't on the same level as submitting to God. Children are supposed to submit to their parents in the same manner.

Husbands and wives are equal in Islam. The only superior force, the only authority, is Allah.
You are mistaking obedience for submission. If a wife submits to her husband, then she can't say no if he commands her to sin. But she is not to submit to him, nor him to her. They are to be obedient to each other and submit to Allah.

No, what I'm saying is that men ALSO need to ask their wife's permission before taking certain actions as well. It is an equal partnership. She is not yours to command, not your property, not your slave. In Islam, husbands and wives are equals.
The wife submits only to Allah, not to her husband. If you expect your wife to submit to you, then you are proclaiming yourself Allah and have nullified your Islam.

No. Men can ask their wife's opinion on certain matters and she can give him advice about things, but he is the head of the household. Decisions are his to make. It is not an equal partnership like in some feminist "down with the patriarchy" type situation.
Let me guess-you are a western Muslim who has probably never even been to a Muslim country and even seen a righteous Muslim woman. You probably adhere heavily to secularism.
The Prophet (saws) said: He who copies any people is one of them.

People have been saying this board was dying since the day it was created. It was here before you and will be here long after you get bored of trying to troll and move on. Every now and then someone like you pops up who was hoping for an ISIS LARP board, but then find out it's an actual Muslim board for Muslims and get butthurt.
We can spot you a mile away because all you EVER want to talk about is the T in LGBT. You literally NEVER post about anything else. If you're so fixated on transgender people, may I suggest the following:

Actually, we already accept the LGBs as long as they don't sin. We don't have thought crimes in Islam. BEING gay is not a sin. ACTING on gay thoughts is a sin. Unless you like the idea of thoughts being sins, punishable by hellfire, in which case I would suggest you become Christian.

>the wine
khamr or alcolohic beverages exist on every culture on earth including arabian peninsula, that's why when Islam came Allah made it haram since the arab people used to drink it
>the meat, the fruit, the fancy palaces, rivers
these also exist in every culture, dumbass
you must be a kafir to correlate Qur'anic verses to some kafir civilization, since you're so familiar with that kafir society
this bullsh** only makes sense if the Qur'an mentioned something specific like the castles which only exist in the medieval period
also the khamr in jannah is different to what we have in this world, such as drinking it doesn't cause diarrhea or make you drunk, hell everything in jannah is different to that of this world, jannah doesn't contain imperfection, therefore there's no such thing as getting bored as getting bored would imply jannah is imperfect as in lacking the ability to entertain you
everything is different in jannah, stop comparing it to this world

Ayah 21:85 and 38:48 both mention a "Dhu al-Kifl", there's a lot of differing opinions among scholars but some people believe it refers to Kapilavistu, which according to Buddhists is where Siddhartha Gautama reached enlightenment.
Basically the idea then, from an Islamic perspective, is Gautama was a prophet whose people were persecuted by their majority-polytheist society, and Gautama and his followers preached Tawhid and had their own revealed holy scriptures, but after his death those scriptures became corrupted (following the same pattern as other prophets and their books, like the Injeel etc.)
To be honest, I don't know how solid the "al-Kifl = Buddha" connection really is. I think a lot of it is politics; a lot of majority-Buddhist countries have a large Muslim minority (and vice versa), a Muslim-Buddhist alliance is too powerful for TPTB to be comfortable with it, which is why we're now having conflicts in countries like Burma (which is 100% astroturfed by Chinese intelligence)

I have some unusual non-hetero fetishes. Maybe they're from shaitan, maybe I experienced a trauma that I don't remember right now that caused it. Sadly we don't exactly know the source of these kind of things.
Sometimes I wonder if I'll experience my haram desires if I enter Jannah. On one hand it's said that you'll be purified from impure desires, on the other hand it's said you'll have whatever your inner-selves desire. Now it looks like it's mutually exclusive but it isn't. We could be purified from our impure desires and still want in Jannah whatever our inner-selves will want in Jannah, if it makes sense.
Yet I still want to think that Allah would grant me to experience haram desires of my nafs in Jannah as a reward if I have patience here in dunya. Not that Allah owes me it, astaghfirullah, but that's what I desire. Maybe I shouldn't even think about it and I'm committing major sin by doing so. I don't know, I'm so confused. Do you feel me?
Only thing I know is that life is too short and we should be patient with our nafs no matter what. Because life is a test and that's the whole point. But every once in a while these thoughts will come to my mind.

I taught myself to pray. I never elongated the thowleen at the end of the prayer for many years. Now that I know you are supposed to I still have a hard time remembering to do it out of habit. Should I make 2 rakats of forgetfulness at the end of the prayer? Do those prayers still count?

Do Muslims study the Torah?

Not really, no. Modern versions of it are too perverted by men from the original message. We study Qur'an. Anything in Torah that contradicts Qur'an can be disregarded.

I like to watch movies but avoid them because most of them contain at least one kind of a haram, even if it's not too explicit but still. Could I watch movies in Jannah that I avoided in the dunya for religiously reasons? Lame question, I know.

Concern yourself with what you do now, in this life. Let Allah worry about Jannah.

How do we tell if the Qur'an is any less perverted?

Would my repentance be valid If I a made comment containing kufr or shirk but I can't find it again to delete? I fear that it may not be valid if my comment is staying on the internet and people see it.

All sincere repentance is valid. Like, if you have sex before marriage, you can't undo that; but Allah forgives those who seek it.

Yes. You're a pervert. Stop thinking with your cock and worry about how you live your life or there will be no paradise for you.

You shouldn't be thinking about them at all. Don't concern yourself with death. You need to be worried about living your life.

I copied the post below from somewhere else. What do you think of it?
"How will Allah test people who never heard of Islam?" "What about mentally disabled people?" etc.
I see these kinds of questions being asked by people time to time. It's not like Allah intented to test other people the way He tests us but He messed up. People think of Allah so lowly while Allah is the creator and the owner of the universe. Of course I'm not talking about every single person. One might still wonder without being disrespectful to Allah.
He could cause those nonmuslim people to die and revive again countless times until they hear the message of Islam if He wanted to but He doesn't even need to do that in the first place. Similarly He could turn a mentally disabled person to the smartest man or woman in the world if He wills. Why don't people think of that?

What? Name one person who has never heard of Islam. Allah guides whom he wills and leads astray whom he wills. It ain't up to us. Calm down.
