If it's just watching porn, block the sites. Reminder that the material you find on those sites isn't representative of what actual sex is like, and it will make you expect things that don't happen in real life.
If your problem includes masturbation, use Islamic works to lessen your free time to do it. Start fasting every couple of days, so that you can't do it during the day. Pray some optional prayers at night, so that you have to specifically keep wudhu.
All habits can be broken if you avoid them long enough. Some people make a 7x7 grid and cross off one square for every consecutive day they go without reinforcing their habit. It lets you see your progress, and once you fill the grid your habit is practically gone.

Take it an urge at a time, distract yourself, build muscle, watch stanford lectures, learn to code. Once you refuse to give in the first few times it stops being a habit.
Also find nofap communities (there's >>>/nofap/, /r/nofap and /r/muslimnofap), they'll make you realise that your struggle is worth more than you think, and that you are part of something.
Also some people will tell you that masturbation without porn is halal, that's a whole other discussion to be had but as someone with a pornography addiction masturbation-only is just going to cause you to fall back into the habit again so you have to stop it no matter what.
Also I'd like to take a moment to point out how evil it is that society has pushed young people to seek sexual gratification this way instead of within healthy, loving, productive relationships.

honestly I understand why they feel that way. my parents had a very unhappy marriage and are divorced now. I'm also really cautious about it partly for that reason, and also because I want to fall in love one day and I don't want an arranged marriage for that reason. I don't think waiting is a bad thing, but I want to learn to control myself until then. I think exercise might be a good help actually though.

I feel that if I could break my addiction I would be an all around better person. This is very true. My wife and I love each other very much, but there is a pragmatism to our marriage. We know each other, we have the same view on children and raising them, we have the same view on religion. "Love" is a very good starting point, but it can't be everything.
