Hello
I advise you to never lose hope. It is easy to become apathetic and feel like your devotion is fading. Take small steps. Remind yourself where you came from and how terrible it was before. You do not want to end up as some bald pig. The social pressure to conform will be tremendous and indeed you will probably keep your religion hidden for fear of prejudice and malice. This is reasonable. However, do not trade your ethics for comfort. We have each other and that is enough. Take comfort when you read your Quran.

Well well well, I was going to make a thread about how I miss first months I became muslim when I was feeling so peaceful and I was recently insulted because of my religion. I don't lurk here often, what a thread to come across.

Yes this is good advice. Definitely don't force it, sometimes people do things because they think it'll benefit them but if the effort is hypocritical and doubtful then the result will be negative. Those who need to constantly encourage themselves need to reevaluate their motivations.
