Why pray for something that is haram? This clearly goes against the teaching of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), as narrated by Abu Hurayrah: “When any one of you fights, let him avoid (striking) the face.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 5/215).

Because nonetheless the pious Muslim should be victorious over the kafir.

True, but I cannot encourage a muslim into sin, even if the face he wants to deform is a kaffir's. Khabib is not doing it out of necessity, but because he enjoys the sport. Sadly I can't support that.

There is no need to encourage sin, OP's only asking that you make dua for the victory of a Muslim on the world stage over a kuf. The fight will happen either way.

If it were a battle out of necessity, I'd agree; but this is a fight about sport and money. We don't do that.

This isn't important. Swimming, archery, and horse riding are the Sunnah sports.

It is important because it shows the Muslim to be superior to the degenerate in order that people may be drawn to the religion after seeing a humble man annihilate an arrogant fool.
Things are not black and white like you would like them to be.

Dawah by MMA? I think if they actually wanted dawah they could use their money for that. Anyways, I'm going to leave it to Allah and I have nothing to do with this.

It's really not important. What happens if he loses? Are you then going to claim it's because we didn't pray for his victory or will you claim it's because the Irishman is superior to the Russian? You say he's a "humble man", but do you have some evidence of that? He's an MMA fighter. They're all full of boasting and pride.
You say it's not black and white, but you're also claiming that it's Us vs Them, which is very black and white.

It's not about what I claim it's about what the people see.

Ok, but you still haven't presented a good argument for why we should pray for victory in a sporting event. Do you not think such trivial things are beneath God?
>>31479
>speaking God's name on the world stage
Does this Khabib fellow do that? Does he openly pray for victory? He might thank Allah for his victory, but does he enjoin Allah to grant him victory? Those are two different things.
Tell you what. If it makes you happy, I will pray that neither man gets hurt and both return safely from the event to their families.

All things are beneath God but dawah is dawah no matter how trivial it seems it will benefit humanity and therefore yourself.
>Does this Khabib fellow do that? Does he openly pray for victory? He might thank Allah for his victory, but does he enjoin Allah to grant him victory? Those are two different things.
He says things like "I will beat him inshallah", does the shahaddah symbol and says that his success is from Allah.
>Tell you what. If it makes you happy, I will pray that neither man gets hurt and both return safely from the event to their families.
Connor is willing to fight and has tried to humiliate Khabib for his religion. Anything less than his defeat would be utterly shameful.

Proof? I haven't seen any intentional Islamophobia from connor. May Allah guide him and his family to Islam. It's a sport = BUSINESS, both of them just want to smash each other faces for money, regardless of religion. And the people watching are willing to pay to see two grown men get punched. I doubt they come and pay to reflect on Allah (swt).
Khabib's defeat won't be Islams defeat, neither will his success be Islam's success. Simple as that, same reason why I wouldn't pray for a professional muslim gambler, I won't pray for anyone's victory in a stupid fight.
We might be asked about this on qiyamah, and I want nothing to do with any sin, even if it's smaller than gambling.

It's a sporting event. There are people out there who think it's "Islam vs Christian" and want to build it up to be that way; but we've always known that it's just an unimportant boxing match. Same as we did back when Muhammad Ali was doing his thing. If he wins, great! If he doesn't win, great! It has nothing to do with us.

The average person is really stupid, and he's attracted by shiny strong things, hence why we need people like Khabib in order to attract them to the straight path.
Fight fire with fire. Fight the vanity of the modern world by showing them that righteousness beats evil even in its own game.
