You can ask questions or for any help in your local masjid. Also, you can check out the discord server "muslim.chat". There are quite a few converts there and people there are generally helpful.

Can you share the story of your journey to Islam and what finally led you to this position?

Basically i was more "agnostic" than anything else for many years.and even in those days i always had some level of respect towards religion.
I got turned into christianity after a while, but to be honest many things felt "uncomplete" about christianity and there was also many many things i did not agree with.
I was not a supporter of islam with tons of cognitive dissonance since aldo i saw islam as something "negative"i was literally non stop always talking in a positive manner about islam in the sense i literally couldnt see ONE thing that i disagreed with the religion and defended it never the less(complete cognitive dissonance)
i happened wrongly to see islam as a "religion that was exclusive to the arab people" and their form of religion expression.
i couldnt deal anymore with the hypocrisy,it became obvious islam had all the answers on how to live life and it was the TRUE religion.
I still have respect for christians, but i was missguided to think of christianity as the true religion also ignoring islam recognizes jesus christ.
islam is the way of life,it is the way of the universe and i can even say it is the only thing that can bring peace into this world.

Exact same case here. Strongly considering conversion.

As a convert, basically my experience was identical. When I studied Islam my reaction was "hey, this what I ALREADY believe". This is because Islam corresponds to our innate human nature (called the "fitrah" in Arabic). This is why it is common to call converts to Islam "reverts", because you're just reverting to you innate God-given nature.

i was already a christian and did believe in obeying in god and i rejected individuality with all of my being before,i realized i was not following the true religion after i started studying islam.what led me to islam was my honest and sincere admiration for the religion. But of course i know IT IS NOT about me,and i shall obey the law of allah.
i am glad that my admiration led me to the true path of life that is islam.Allah i shall obey and not question.
>>28222
YES exactly! This is was the major reason i started to believe islam was the path, because islam corresponds to our innate human nature unlike christianity which does not. So i got curious and started studying it more and more and there you go.I ended up on the right path

really a sign of pride and nothing else, what should lead you to any religion is the force of truth compelling you, it shouldn't even be a 'choice' but something you fall into by the grace of God. Oh well, you tried.

How can you tell? And are you telling him to not use his brain? lol

Quite the opposite, I want his brain to compel him towards the true path, not the path he seems to find admirable or elegant. Whatever that path may be compulsion towards the truth should be the foundation, and the truth shall set him free.
For example I don't say that a triangle's angles add to 180degrees because of my admiration for Euclid or because mathematics is so beautiful and its followers are so rigorous, but because my brain compels me to that fact, l can't deny 2+2 = 4, except at the cost of self-deception.
I'd like to here converts speak about their conversion process as something almost involuntary. Almost, not totally, because they need to acquiesce to the truth once they find it, otherwise they are hypocrites. But I'm afraid many converts to religion don't really "find the truth" but instead find something admirable or helpful or "rational" instead…

I disagree. When I read his account it reminded me of the following verses:
>"And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;-"
49:7
>"Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.
>And when they listen to the revelation received by the Messenger, thou wilt see their eyes overflowing with tears, for they recognise the truth: they pray: "Our Lord! we believe; write us down among the witnesses."

So it has to be an emotional experience? That's completely subjective and isn't solid grounds to convert. Some ppl just don't feel that. And some do. The important part is being convinced by the logic of islamic theology. Meaning 1 Allah, and the prophethood of Muhammad pbuh. That's it, we don't make false promises of holy spirit orgasm for every new member or whatever. We rely on logic and evidence.

I haven't converted yet, but I'm heavily inclined to convert. More so after reading Reza Aslan's 'Zealot'. However, I already had my doubts, theologically.
There's a couple of spiritual/religious options left that I'm considering, and I haven't converted yet because as appealing as Islam is, there's no going back, so I need to do a close examination

If you are aware of Qur'an, Allah's message, and you don't convert to Islam, then there is no going back. Religion is not a cafeteria. There is only one God and his perfect religion is Islam.

Not him, but I only converted a year after i was already sure that the content of the Shahada was true and that the Quran was the word of God. I had to research and be sure I was making the right decision and that my initial impression was correct.

I hope you won't revert if you do convert.
It'll be tough.
Most become disillusioned with the community and find a huge lack of support.
That's how it is. Most Muslims are idiots so you might not enjoy their company.
Make sure you don't do this for others. Only do it for yourself.

not him but people should realize that this is not really about us in the long term and our thoughts about the faith does not change the fact of it. There's no alternative, anyways.
I'm thankful for it.

>it has to be emotional
no it has to be a higher-rational-intuitive process, admitting 1+1 = 2 isn't based on emotions, realizing you're going to die one day isn't emotional.. What OP is doing sounds like the emotional appeal since he bases conversion on "admiration" rather than logic and adherence to the truth
>That's it, we don't make false promises of holy spirit orgasm for every new member or whatever. We rely on logic and evidence.
nothing of the sort was said. I made analogies using triangles and math….

Hello yes the exact same thing happened to me.
I have been a Christian for years and always felt like it was an incomplete religion. I never bothered reading the Quran though because I was brainwashed into being Anti-Islam from the Jewish media.
One day I just had a revelation and the holy spirit told me that Muhammad was a true prophet of YWYH, not a false one. So I read the Quran and bam. It is literally the completed and final version of the Abrahamic Religion. I dont think I have even recovered from the shock yet because this was only 2 days ago.
I wonder how we can wake more people up? I mean the revelation of John is clearly upon us. It was only three days ago I genuinely believed that Islam was the Antichrist.
God forgive me =( I was so blind. Blinded by all the idols of the world
