Why don't Muslims like picture of the prophet Muhammad but are ok with pictures of the prophet Isa bin Maryam?

But why are there so many protests about drawings of Muhammad and nothing for Isa bin Maryam?

The depictions of Muhammed(saw) are done first and foremost to insult muslims, unlike eg what you posted of I'sa(as). But of course, westerners do draw insulting pictures of Isa bin Maryam as well and if you ask why we don't protest against those then because realistically, they're not going away. But that does not mean we're okay with it.

What's the Muslim stance on supposed relics of prophets, such as the Shroud of Turin?
When I was a Christian I used to be very interested in these, but the Islamic perspective is definitely new to me.

It has no significance whatsoever, even if it were authentic.

Which reminds me. My big question to those who believe in the absolute authenticity of the Shroud of Turin is if it's such a holy relic, why did it need restoration work in 2002?
Doesn't matter much as it's been scientifically proven to be from the medieval period, but the idea of Isa(pbuh) being a tall, white European is laughable.

You seem to not understand why islam forbid the representation of prophets.
It's because islam didn't want to fall like Catholicism, in the deification of a man. That's why we don't represent any of them. We don't care either way.
That's why we're against representation of Muhammed, of Issa, Ibrahim etc… or anything that could lead people away from the believe in Allah.
Now, we respect any religion. So if one people want to represent some prophet, they do what they want.
Muslims should only react when it goes beyond the edge, like Satanism.
By the way, some people in islam are saying that art, or music is forbidden. That's absolutly wrong. Because they misunderstand the point of why some kind of art was forbidden in the past. It was because in any tradition, "traditional" art is very very regulated. In EVERY traditions. In China, that was the same. If any chinese scholar would change the rule, the color in its traditional art (each color have a precise meaning etc..), he would be literaly banned from chinese society for 2 years. Moreover, art was very expansive, so doing a painting was actually something.
Today, pens and paper are very common. So you can the art you want, no one cares.
Nowhere is the Quran is written you can't represent anything, nor sing anything. The point was you can't do art that goes against god, the same with songs.
Anyone that's saying that you can't do art/sing are manipulating hadiths, notably the one describing ascetics that were repressing any form of pleasure to get as much closer from Allah. You can't impose such a life on everyone, at any time. Being a monk is forbidden in Islam. So, being an ascetic have to be limited in time/mean.
CONTEXT PLZ. Don't listen to hadith (with exception of the one logical and going in the way of the Quran), the Quran is the most important.
Everything have a purpose. Don't be a retard that accept anything, aside from the Quran itself. 20/30% of the Quran is about rules. Therefore, obviously rules are important, but the biggest part of islam is pure meditation and spirituality.
The islam practice today, especially by the wahabit and the salafists (muslim brotherhood), is not the same of the one of our dear prophet muhammed.

Yes. Yes.
Don't believe Quranist lies. Music and art of man or animals is forbidden.
You see a statue you worship it. It's automatic. Like the Catholics. You see them bow to stone constructs? Shirk. Anyone who bows to stone is commit shirk. Prostration is only for Allah who is nowhere in creation, but outside it.

You seem to not understand that everything that exist is alive, and have a part of god, "rocks" included. So representating literally anything is then forbidden. You can't tell me that it's a matter of spirit, because animals don't have one. That's the same with literature. You're representing humans, animals in literature. So you're creating them. So I guess that every poetry ever written by muslims across the centuries will be burn in fire. Like some treators like the Almohades in the history of islam have done at some point, by burning Ibn Sina and such books, because they were considered "none believers". The cufists must be kufars too, since they're dancing and doing ritual music.
The sheitan is doing a great job, isn't he.

Almost
>"rocks" included
Ah, no.
“I was with Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) when a man came to him and said, ‘O Ibn ‘Abbaas, I am a man who earns a living by the work of my hands, and I make these pictures (or images).’ Ibn ‘Abbaas said: ‘I will only tell you what I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say, and I heard him say, “Whoever makes an image in this world will be punished until he breathes life into it, and he will never be able to do so.’’ The man became very upset and his face turned pale. He – meaning Ibn ‘Abbaas – said, ‘Woe to you! If you insist on making them (images), then you can make images of these trees and everything that does not have a soul.’”
Trees and rocks don't have souls.
>a matter of spirit, because animals don't have one
Animals have a soul.
There is not an animal in the earth, nor a bird that flies with its wings, but (are) communities like you. Nothing have we neglected from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord [6:38]

Plenty of hadiths on it brother….why do you suppose that Islam has virtually no religious art involving depictions of people/animals? Instead it opts for abstract patterns….Ponder that.
And as for music being forbidden, it's common knowledge, but modern people find it inconvenient so they ignore the ruling. Google it if you are new.

I'll not go in detail, because it's tiring and because I'll leave in board, but everything you're saying is false.
Animals don't have spirit, on the same level of man. At the end of time, us, humans, will survive, but animals, and this earth will disapear, to make place for a new humanity. The "proof" you're pointing out is worthless. Communities doesn't mean anything.
Now, I invite you to study metaphysic, gnosis and get closer to cufism. Maybe you'll understand why I'm saying that everything is actually alive, at different stats of being, INCLUDING mineral, plants etc… But I'm not good enough with the suject to go further by myself. The spiritual world is a very complicated place, and the real definition of Allah is even more complicated. A god creator is the most simplistic understanding one can have of god. What islam have, is that you can go further and get closer to the truth. But most of today's muslims are just christians, with slightly different laws. Fundamentally, there is no difference in their believes (else than the trinity obv.). It reminds me of this verse/hadith (don't remember) saying that Islam will looks like the precedent religion. The burka btw is nothink else than the frumka, the same cloth that wear the wife of orthodox jews. And that's understandable, because everything goes degenerate and dies, including religion.
On the matter of music/art, seriously, there is so much work out there deconstructing hadiths (hadiths btw are not divine, so they're the soft spot of islam, ready for Iblis to smash), that are used while being totaly worthless in their transmission chain that I'll not even bother. There is at least as much hadith for and against art/music. But I'm not gonna try to convince anyone, since most of today's islam is a big joke. There is no islamic countries, and there is extremly harming currents that hurt islam since at least a century. Most of the so called islamic countries are old european colonies, thus having no link at all with what they were in the past. The whole middle east have been colonised btw, after WW1. The last caliphs and leaders were sabbateans, basically satanists. They all practice ribba. Find me today one muslim that never had any debt. That's a minority in the ouma. Debt is the worst sin you could ever do.
I can only hope that our community will grow less ignorant, but I know that's not gonna happen. Things are only going to get worst, and when the antichrist is gonna come, today's islam is such shallow that they'll join him in mass. Obviously a minority will subsist, but only a minority.
