At least 235 people have been killed in a bomb and gun attack on a mosque in Egypt's northern Sinai Peninsula, according to state media.
The attack took place in al-Rawda village, west of El Arish, shortly after Friday prayers.
Egyptian state media MENA provided the death toll, citing an official security source. It also said that 120 people were wounded in the attack.

>The mosque in Bir al-Abed, about 40km west of El Arish, the provincial capital of North Sinai, was frequented by Sufis.
>No group has claimed responsibility but local affiliates of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group have claimed previous attacks.
for what purpose would they do this? they don't know those people, who gives them the right to execute others indiscriminately? Makes no sense.

Terrorism, pure and simple. It is a way for ISIS jihadists to say, "See? This won't happen if you go to our proper mosques." It's terrorism, bullying, and absolutely anti-Islam.

They're not practicing jihad so don't call them jihadists. They're khawarij that attack muslims and non-muslims, anyone except their own.

Witnesses say the perps were carrying ISIS flags and Egyptian officials have backed that claim. I don't know how much validity that has, but there's been no official statement from ISIS.

There has to be a claim or a valid investigation. Isis would claim it or condemn it, there can't be any middle ground.

Why would they carry flags during an attack like that ?
It doesn't make a lot of sense, especially considering that if they were so eager to put their print on this they would've claimed the attack by now like they did every other.
Many people in Egypt are starting to say that this is a false flag attack by Sissi and his cronies.

It easily could be a false flag operation, but I doubt it's by el-Sisi. It could also be that the perps were carrying ISIS flags. Honestly, I don't know. I wasn't there. One of two things is going to happen.
1] The story will be forgotten about and never followed up on.
2] Proper evidence will come out. Egyptians love their cell phones and surely someone has footage that hasn't been shown to the public yet due to ongoing investigation.

It's staunchly secularist and it's just what it needs to tilt popular opinion on it's side after the years of fiasco although what i've posted is nothing but speculation at this point fact remains that i wasn't claimed by the people who usually claim these attacks that's not much to go on by itself but it's enough to keep an open mind.

>It could also be that the perps were carrying ISIS flags.
Yes my suspicion isn't as to whether they carried these flags or not but why, especially if they're not even going to claim it later.
It's strange at the very least.
I doubt there's recorded evidence of this, people were climbing on each other to get out of the masjid but we will see InshaAllah.

Nobody hates Sufism. What is hated are the idiots who think Sufism is some kind of "Islamic Kabbalah" and call themselves "Sufi" while completely disregarding the fact that Sufism is a form of study, not an actual sect of Islam.

There is no such thing as a "Sufi mosque". Sufism isn't a sect of Islam. It's a form of study. There are Sunni sufists, Shi'a sufists, Ibadi sufists; but nobody is just Sufi unless they're some new-age crystal hugging idiot who has no concept of what "Sufi" means.

They aren't targeted, not even by ISIL, they released a video where they make peace with some sufis and teach them salafism. I suspect the egyptian army is behind this, since they are known to kill civilians for propaganda purposes. Vid related, killing unarmed civilians and then claiming they are isis fighters. They do this because they are desperate and losing in sinai.
