Hey, not trying to be offensive here but I've seen a lot of "mohammed is a pedophile" memes on 8chan in general and I'd like to know the whole story.
1. How old was aisha when mohammed and her married?
2. When was the marriage consummated
3. If it was at a young age (14-), does Islam condone sexual relationships with prepubescent children?
Thanks for answering

1. Scholars/Historians vary. The only concrete mention of her age is that she had reached puberty.
2. Thinking about other people having sex is gross.
3. No.

Pedophillia is an attraction to underage girls, Muhammad was not at all attracted to underage girls and his marriage to Aisha was a political marriage that she and her parents consented to. And he did not have sex with her until she hit puberty and wanted to consummate the marriage. A simple way to debunk this pedophile non-sense is just to ask for a scholarly source on the subject.
>Some traditional sources disagree. Ibn Hisham wrote in his biography of Muhammad that she may have been ten years old at the consummation.[11] Ibn Khallikan, as well as Ibn Sa'd al-Baghdadi citing Hisham ibn Urwah, record that she was nine years old at marriage, and twelve at consummation.[26] Sadakat Kadri points out that the recording of Aisha's age by Ibn Sa'd and Bukhari (though the hadith was Sahih) came a couple of centuries after the Prophet's death.[27] Child marriage was not uncommon in many places at the time, Arabia included. It often served political purposes, and Aisha's marriage to Muhammad would have had a political connotation.[26]

One of the biggest issues that people seem to fail to realize is that Aisha was not the Prophet's only wife, or even his first wife. If he were a pedophile, then all of his wives would have been little girls.

Most historical analysis points to her being 16-20 at the time of marriage.
One theory as to why she was reported to be younger than she was is that it was done to counter Shia (who historically hate her) rumours that she was not a virgin at the time of marriage, and a narrative that she was basically a slut.
So the age of 9 was used to eliminate any doubt as to her virginity, and to cement her military/political stature, not thinking that it would become an issue 1200 years later.

No, lots of pedophiles have normal aged wives, even old wives, and then abuse their daughters or random young girls.

I reject all hadiths, the only resource for a Muslim is Qur'an. Qur'an is completed and it does not need fabricated hadiths to complete it. If you want to criticize Islam, use Qur'an. Wait, you never read it right? :-3

Yes but Quran is not complete like the books of other religions, so we need hadiths. Just because they were written 200 years later you can't trust them? so what? what if they were written 2000 years later, doesn't make a difference. and we also need commentaries on hadith by the scholars. Pick your scholars carefully. I do.
Quranism is not islam. Islam is not completed by Allah's revelation, we need the words of men to help us understand and add to it.

how do you interpret the verses that say to kill disbelievers and polytheists wherever you find them, without hadith to add context and such?
By themselves, without context, they just appear to be orders to kill non-muslims. No?

The lunar calendar year is shorter. Both calendars sync up every 30 years or so. You'd only notice a difference of 1 year every 30 years.
If you spent less time watching kids' cartoons you'd know that.

It is impossible to know the meaning of the verses referring to the slander of Aisha RA and the story of Kaab Ibn Malik RA, without having the hadith to explain in detail what happened. There are several verses in the Quran that refer to events that were happening during the time the Quran was revealed. They are only touched upon briefly in the Quran, without giving a detailed explanation of the events that happened.
Have you even studied the Seerah of the Prophet PBUH? Or do you think that all of his life history cannot be proven to be true, so you cannot take anything from it?

I don’t think you can pin it down to one main reason. If you reject hadith and only accept from the Quran, you can interpret the Quran in any way you see fit to suit your desires. They can say certain meanings are allegorical, and everyone should be entitled to their own interpretation of the Quran. Some of them think they are more enlightened to the meanings of Islam than the people who spent their entire lives learning from the Prophet PBUH and his companions.

O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination. [4:59]
You can't obey the Messenger or refer differences of opinion to him if you don't have hadith. If you reject hadith, you reject Qur'an. If you reject Qur'an, you reject God. If you reject God, you reject Islam. If you reject Islam, you're not Muslim.

There are several verses in the Quran telling the believers to obey and follow the example set by the Messenger PBUH.
33-21 Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.
How is someone supposed to follow the example of the Prophet PBUH without following hadith? Even non-Muslims recognize that the Prophet Muhammad PBUH has the most completely well documented life of anyone in history. Even his personal relations with his wives and family are all recorded in detail. For example, even if you are best friends with someone for their entire life, you would probably have little knowledge about their personal relations and conduct with their wives and family. The Prophet PBUH was a perfect example of having good character. He always behaved in a manner that should be imitated. The only way someone can follow the Prophet as an example is to follow the hadith.

How do you interpret that….gee, maybe you should read the verse before it? And the one after it for context? It's always they point at that particular verse….but not the context.
It's like if a guy say "I hate women who believe that abortion is the right thing to do"…and they only focus on "I hate women". I always hated that sort of cherry picking..yet that's the thing they always throw at you.
That and claiming that the Prophet SAW is a pedophile. I mean, were they there during the Prophet's time? Have they seen Aisha RA? Have they spoken to anyone from that time period? Where are they basing this claim from? The actions of modern day, scant few Arabs who are pedos? Because if that's where they are drawing their conclusions from…I'd say the Western folks are pedos because Greeks way back in ancient times also diddle kids. But of course, they're going to say "Well, it's acceptable at the time" or some sort of insane excuse.

Considering that's a bloody lie, no..I don't accept that. And was even debunked time and time again. But of course, that's your only arguement ain't it? "Hurr she was 9 hurr" but then again, no matter what I or anyone say, you are going to fall back to "She was 9!"…and nothing else. One brother even mentioned it earlier…and what was your response? Oh right, "She was a 9 year old child"…that's the only thing you said.
