First I've heard of it.
And I don't know, companies that were already exporting steel to production facilities outside of the nation would be better off buying steel and aluminum outside of the nation anyway. The goal is to prevent further hemorrhage of existing companies, and promote build up of new companies within the boarders.

I mean… there's always going to be a lack of industry in rural areas? That's the curse of a rural area. Last time I lived somewhere that was really rural the most prominent form of employment was in the tourism industry, or mining. How does that tie in here though?
Sure, but automation usually only shifts the hat around. Automation and labor saving is usually just to replace the labor intense job that few people are willing to do. You know, the part that you want to import people for. The job that takes its place is maintaining and operating those machines. In the area of farming as time progresses fewer and fewer of the population has had to actually be farmers, and that'll continue to be true.
And while automation is great, part of my point was simply that an alternative to importing labor is using what's already on hand, instead of ignoring them and displacing them as a population and culture by importing different people and their cultures.
The society questions were about religion and science.

No, they were never exporting steel, that wouldn't make sense
they are making new production facilities in the places they buy the steel so they don't have to pay the import taxes.
This isn't always true, though. I went to a public school and the college enrollment rates rivaled that of many NC private highschools even though the average family income is significantly less.
And a lot of the 'problems' are a result of poor funding in the states where they are bad. They retain poor teachers because those teachers couldn't get jobs in the next state over. My cousin is a prime example of this; he is a very good history teacher and moved to VA because NC didn't pay him nearly enough. Take even 1% of the military budget and put it toward schools and that would solve a lot of the problems.
There are a lack of people in rural areas. The farming industry is basically exclusively rural and many larger factories are the same, like the Michilen plant that my father worked at in Scottsville VA while I was growing up.
You're not completely wrong, but you need significantly less skilled labor to run an automated factory than you needed to maintain the previous machinery + labor managers, etc. Inherently, automation will decrease those kinds of jobs across the board. albeit, I am for automation, but you will either need new frontiers for people to work in or some sort of programs to keep them all from starving
It was also about the gays, which I do have a stance on but don't care that much about.

None of Trump's policies really address any of those issues. It's isolationist tariffs with little regard to protecting, encouraging, or even so much as planning, along with "cutting the red tape" regulatory processes that aren't about industry at all but to the benefit of corporate interests. Corporations and industry aren't mutually interchangeable and benefiting the former rarely affects the later. Every one of his policies doesn't benefit the country as a whole. Normalized testing and college freshman grades mostly show that private schools academically perform at similar levels.

I like the concept too, part of my reason for not being a fan is I read a bit of the manga and wasn't a fan of where it went after what the first ep covers, which initially drew me in. In the anime's case, I wasn't a fan of the CG. I'm not necessarily against the use of CG for scenes that would otherwise come out looking like shit because they don't have the money for skilled animators, but when they're using it for even simple movements like in a scene where GS is front and center on the screen and all he's doing is sheaving his sword it just looks lazy.
