Do rapid induction techniques like pattern breaks actually work on random people on the street?
I feel like putting people into suggestable trances mostly works because they expect to be put into a trance. Random people on the street aren't expecting to be blindsided into a trace.
It's really hard to test this since it's probably not 100% legal.

Ignoring ethics, I think a cold rapid induction would work on only a small amount of individuals who are already super-susceptible to hypnosis without needing a lengthy induction the first time.
I know there are those allegedly real videos of stage hypnotists getting out of speeding tickets without the police officer realizing what is happening, but, even assuming those videos are not staged, I suspect those hypnotists are probably not showing all of the times when it didn't work.
