Over a year ago, there was a great thread where hypnosis was discussed in depth, with experienced hypnotists sharing their experiences. Some of the topics/takeaways, from the top of my mind:

- Hypnosis requires initial consent, but the initial consent can be warped into virtually anything.

- Many lessons and stories about things you should(n't) do while hypnotizing someone.

- A Pair-Bonding project with mp3 files destined for couples to reinforce their bond/connection.

- The use of hypnosis in relationships in general.

Here is a link to the old thread. It's not available on the catalog anymore : https://8ch.net/hypno/res/24749.html

Let's make this thread the new place for quality discussions about hypnosis.

Ask questions and answer them when you can! Share interesting experiences and things you read!

To kick things off, I will recommend the book Trancework by Michael Yapko.

It's a very long book designed to teach people working in the medical field about hypnosis. The focus of the book is entirely about helping people through hypnosis. Why recommend it here then? Because it gives you a solid background about what hypnosis is and what it is not. About what it can do, and what it can't (some of the stuff he describes is more impressive than most stuff on this board).

Much of the hypnosis found on this board is either not really hypnosis or hypnosis with a ton of superfluous things sprinkled onto it (the voodoo). The book shows you what you really need to do when hypnotizing someone. Once you know that, nobody will stop you from adding whatever elements you want to make your sessions feel special, but you will understand why you do it.

The book is only a few years old and thus features a modern point of view and techniques.

Pic unrelated.

Hey I remember that thread, thanks for posting it since I didn't go through everything back then!

I'm not sure whether that fits the topic but here's a point of contention I always had: the problem with hypnosis files is that they're separated in phases, basically 1) induction 2) deepener 3) instructions 4) wake up.

In my uneducated opinion the ``deepener'' is just an extension the induction and thus redundant.

Which isn't such a big problem by itself but my main gripe is that there's no mechanism to keep the listener in trance past that, and what's worse is that the "deepener" is more often than not merely an excuse to make files over 45 mins longs without caring much about the trance during the instruction phase. While it makes creating files easy and streamlined, I'm less than convinces of the efficiency of that cookie-cutter method.

Another gripe is the blandness of most trance inductions which is just counting down some stairs or what have you. Of course, having made a few hypnosis files I'm also a culprit but I try to at least come up with my own method, heavily based on my personal experience with meditation since I haven't read anything about hypnosis yet. And the results were surprisingly good, but that just might be because I'm the one who made the file so I can't tell for sure.

So yeah, all in all, I'm of the opinion that the trance induction shouldn't be a separate entity to just slap in the front of whatever [body] file, but instead should be incorporated throughout the entirety of the file in an attempt to keep the listener in a trance state at all times; as in my personal experience I tend to get disturbed out of trance by some parts of the hypnosis file being of poor quality and have to get back in on my own.

Now, that's just my uneducated opinion so I'd be happy for anyone to chime in and confirm or deny it, preferably with some level of details.

Just my 2 cents, but the problems you're describing with Hypnosis mp3's are more down to the skill of the Hypnotist, the quality of their writing and their ability to weave the different sections of a trance together in a way that feels seamless… there are a LOT of charlatans and chancers in the Erotic Hypnosis scene - When it's done right a session can have all of those elements in that order and STILL take me and keep me in a deep trance…

Fun highlights from the previous thread:

>OP has high functioning multiple personality disorder

>some people hear voices in their head at all times

>sharing bodies/minds is the next step

>although we span six bodies most of us form something similar to your span-2 definition with another body

>whether OP is telling the truth doesn't matter

>do not know if anon is lying, it's always possible, but prefer to think it's true

>deeply enjoy arguing with somebody over an unimportant subject to establish domination

>read your messages with great interest but didn't see a valid reason to interact with you except to focus attention on myself

>let's start a cult

>no real activity anymore

>what the fuck happened in this thread

>didn't really read the thread

>drink lots of water, 1 time per day for 5 days

>thanks a lot mate

>we're really proud of how this thread went though

>somehow that means a lot to me, even though I'm not quite sure why

Wait, what? Did I just say something? Never mind. It was a great thread with quality discussion. Nothing to see here. Carry on.

>Another gripe is the blandness of most trance inductions which is just counting down some stairs or what have you.

I've always been puzzled by the ubiquity of stairs in hypnotic induction visualizations. If you're going to have people think about going downward, why not mix it up more with an escalator, elevator, driving downhill, falling, parachuting, landing in a plane, returning to Earth in a space capsule, diving in a submarine, being lowered into a grave in a coffin, going over Niagara Falls in a barrel, etcetera? It's like everybody is working off of the same script (literally) and refusing to branch out into new territory.

So far I've seen elevator (was played really well), falling and sinking down in the middle of a lake. Oh and some submarine stuff but it was too thick on the scenario bullshite it felt more lengthy than anything else.

Personally I've used both falling with speed variation, sinking in, being sucked down and being weighed down.

I also like using the "hold your breath and contract all your muscles" thing, especially for files more axed on giving up/ relinquishing power to the de-facto hypnotist; but that pattern can grow stale quite easily so I'm trying to avoid it.

The worst in my opinion is timed breathing or direction from which hole to breathe in/out of. Usually I can hold my breath for 2~3 cycles, and using the nose only is the better method, so essentially some hypnosmuck is trying to get me to use a worse breathing technique, which never works.

The old, old "part X of your body is relaxing" from feet to head… yeah it works and it has a lot of potential… which is never exploited. Best one I've heard iirc is from V1v3, something about your body being full of air, slowly leaking out from your feet or something. As you can imagine that's an older file of his, since all of his files in the last 2 years have been stale shit. My personal twist on the whole body parts stuff is to alternate left/right and up/down to have the consciousness spin around, not sure how effective it is for other people but it works for me.

I agree. When you have enough practice there is no clear cut 4-part structure anymore. The induction slowly blends into the theme of the session. Then the suggestions themselves are used to deepen the trance.

On way to do this is to use simple and easy to accept suggestions one after the other to create a "positive response set". Once you have a flow going the subject will naturally continue to agree with what you suggest. Move progressively to the suggestions you really are interested in.

Here is an extract from Trancework with a description of a sessions and the shortened script. It's a good example. Tell me if you want more of these:

"

The client is a woman in her early 60s who initially sought treatment for nightmares, recurring traumatic images associated with childhood episodes of molestation, poor self-esteem, and an inability to effectively set limits in her relationships with others. Supporting her working through the feelings associated with her traumas was one obvious and necessary part of her treatment plan. Another part of her therapy focused on her lack of a sense of Self—what many clinicians call a lack of “ego boundaries.” Assertiveness and limit-setting capabilities are possible to achieve later in a therapy sequence, but first a sense of Self that is worthy of protection must be defined. This woman was so global in her self-understanding and so selflessly adaptive to whoever was around her that she knew shockingly little about her own thoughts and feelings. This is what is termed a “lack of emotional differentiation.” Simply put, when you don’t really know what you’re feeling, it’s hard to self-regulate your feelings. The following transcript represents part of a hypnosis session conducted quite early on in her therapy addressing the themes of building boundaries and evolving a clearer definition of Self.

Multiple sessions were conducted with Molly emphasizing expanding inner awareness, the recognition and acceptance of her own uniqueness, the ability to make positive choices in her own behalf, and the ability to compartmentalize past traumas so as to permit future growth. Molly became quite adept at recognizing people’s attempts to influence her, often for self-serving purposes. She felt empowered to say no more clearly and more often, and said she felt for the first time that her life was finally truly hers.

All right, Molly, you can begin by taking in a few deep … relaxing breaths … getting yourself comfortable … getting yourself oriented now … to enter into internal experience for a while … so that you can really enjoy the balance between conscious awareness and unconscious awareness … let each breath relax you … let your thoughts run loose for a while … until they tire themselves out … and then little by little, they can slow … becoming very slow … so that more and more of your mental energy can be spent on learning … at the deepest levels within yourself … of the experience of comfort … about the experience of being so distant … from all the usual focal points of your awareness … so that you really can know deeply … that all the inner terrain … your inner landscape … can be traveled comfortably … looking at this natural formation … and that natural formation … the feelings and thoughts … the historical markers … your curiosity … and a very deep recognition … of inner capabilities … and it’s interesting to observe the evolution … what the experience of development is like … to see a newly born baby … and no one really knows whether the baby thinks or what the baby thinks … and to watch an infant discover its own fingers, its own toes … to see the amused look on an infant’s face … when it discovers that it can make a finger wiggle … at will … and little by little … that infant learns … this is my body … and it is separate and distinct from any other part of the world … from all other people and places and things … and each square inch of your skin … is a boundary … between your inner world … and the outer world … and it really isn’t possible for you to jump out of your skin … you are self-contained … and it’s interesting … that there are some people who don’t have a home in which to live … who believe that the sky is their roof … that the earth is their home … and then there are others who mark off huge territories, many acres of land … they clearly mark that it is theirs … and each wall someone builds … keeps something in and keeps something else out … and there are walls of stone … walls of wood … steel-reinforced walls … and there are the walls … that you can build for yourself … deliberately and happily … the walls of Molly … that are permeable walls … the kind that can selectively let things in and let things out … and it’s that kind of a wall … that allows just enough distance from discomfort … to be able to drive down a freeway … comfortably … it is the kind of permeable wall … that when someone makes a comment during a conversation … that perhaps you can relate to … that permits a comfortable distance … a protective … distance from which to consider each bit of input … and you can feel secure that each person’s feedback to you will have to check in at your front gate … before you decide to let it in or not … before you decide whether to react or not

Disclaimer: this post and the subject matter and contents thereof - text, media, or otherwise - do not necessarily reflect the views of the 8kun administration.

31ebdc  No.62340

… and if you react … to decide how you’ll react … based on what works … and feels good at the deepest levels within yourself … so, why not have a construction party? … and build a pretty wall … and a creative wall … and I wonder what colors you’ll use … what materials you’ll use … and what does the check-in gate look like? … and how very much room is there … for lots and lots of growth … and the walls … can always be moved when you so desire … they can be built up or built down … you can put in peep holes and panoramic windows … after all, the walls are yours … and all I know is that the ability … to walk into an open space … has at one level … unlimited freedom … but at another level … where’s the structure to guide experience meaningfully? … and when I moved into this particular office that I’m in now … it was a huge space … I had to draft a plan … detailing how many walls I wanted … and where I wanted them … how many electrical outlets … and how many doors … and did I want the doors opening in or opening out … how many “on” switches and how many “off” switches … and there’s a part of you that knows very well … that designing uses for space … is a real art … and you discovered over time … that each part of you … all the parts of you … have some space … and how you want to use that space … is certainly a matter of individual design … and the aesthetics … of a high wall here, or a low wall there … more space for this part and less space for that part … and you can really enjoy … the incredible clarity … that comes along … with increasingly sophisticated designs … movable and removable walls … and what a relief to know … that nothing that you experience need necessarily flow right through all of you … that you have lots of inner protection … walls of inner strength … and you’ve seen pictures of the Great Wall of China … and you’ve heard of the Wailing Wall … and you’ve read about the Berlin Wall … and you know about Wall Street … and maybe you’ve even heard about Wall Drug, South Dakota … and the natural wall of the Rocky Mountains … the sheer cliff walls of La Jolla … and with all the different possibilities … your unconscious can … without any real effort on your part … it can plan … and build … and if you were to work for a security firm … you’d really know about the importance of enforcing and protecting the walls that separate inner from outer … 24 hours a day … seven days a week … one really must protect one’s space … and well-being … and there are a lot of deeper meanings … that I really know … you can absorb and use … a day at a time … and so take your time … to process … to architect … and then … when you feel like you want to … and when you’re ready to … that’s when you can re-orient fully … and open your eyes when you are ready. …

I believe some K4$h4 files would take a moment inbetween conditioning/fantasy scenarios to reiterate the depth of your trance. I don't remember, but I'm fairly certain her Pers. Prog. makes use of this well.

I do not have an issue with the classic stair scenario, rather that it's just poorly utilized. F10n4 had a file, I forget the name, that used stairs a little better by taking a longer time exploring them and building up the bottom step. All hypnotists that use this method of "descent imagery" are no better than the actual words used. Stairs are an easy to imagine thing that come quickly to mind, and just a classic in induction. They themselves aren't at fault.

>>62329

It's forbidden to bring up the ol' TTS files of a certain recency and topic, but while trying them out one of the files used an elevator that actually dropped the floor out from under you. I enjoyed it. Contracting muscles isn't so bad to me, but the issue I take with the automatic breathing thing is I never feel like I know when to exhale/inhale. I always do it a moment or so off, or I just never get the cue to exhale and I'm still holding when they ask to inhale again. It's not so bad of a calming technique as much as it requires extra communication since the body language is obviously absent.

One thing the-TTS-that-shall-not-be-named did right, in my opinion, was the constant focus on dropping the listener down. Sometimes it was annoying but with the intense focus on keywords, the pacing worked well enough that new conditioning could be halted for a moment to put you down again. Another thing is that a lot of hypnotists either put too much repetition or not enough.

One of the big things I've noticed is that the GOOD ones I've listened to don't just spam one message they need you to remember over and over, or say it once and leave and expect you to remember it, they pepper it in and out so that you get the message – mind you this is the root of hypnosis and guided fantasies – subtly. Just because the fantasy is willingly brought upon oneself doesn't mean it allows me to bypass bad hypnosis. The whole art is subtle and about nuance. Almost like "sneaking", really.

I checked, I have the 5th edition that came out this year. I'll share it in a few days. Until then, here is are the changes to the 4th edition:

This new edition of Trancework has been updated and expanded in a number of ways: (1) New chapters have been added on the topics of metaphor, process-oriented hypnosis, and treating depression; (2) All other chapters have been updated with current references; (3) The special Frame of Reference sections have been expanded and, when possible, updated (which couldn’t be done for many of the pioneers featured who are deceased); (4) Many new session transcripts have been added to help you better understand what the concepts and methods sound like in actual hypnosis sessions; and (5) A dedicated Trancework website has been established that you are encouraged to visit regularly. Rather than take up valuable book pages with the lengthy Reference section and Appendices, these will be found on the website. The Forewords to the previous four editions written by Jeffrey Zeig, André Weitzenhoffer, Steven Jay Lynn, and Peter Sheehan, respectively, as well as my Introductions, will be found on the website as well.

you mean when one person acted out after the well-behaved threads about the hypno you just mentioned were trolled repeatedly (by mods also)

as is the case in this thread, those files did get brought up a few times because they are actually of high quality, even if you're not into that niche. modularity is way underused, too.

this can be discussed freely over at the board linked to from >>>/larp/ btw

You make a good point about modularity. I'd like to expand on it with a list of ideas popular hypnosis file makers should do more often (that don't require much added effort on their part):

- Creating multiple versions of the same session: changing a few of the suggestions, or their order. You don't need to rerecord everything, and it allows us to listen to a session multiple times without getting bored.

- Similarly to the last item: Making alternate endings to files (use your player's random feature to get the surprise at the end)

- Spliting the induction part away from the session. Most popular hypnotists have sessions where you learn a trigger word to go to sleep. Why would you have to listen to 30m of induction when you already have the trigger? An added benefit would be the ability to choose your preferred induction before every session.

- Have separate files in which the learned triggers are used separately. Too often is a trigger implanted and tested twice, and never used again in other files.

I agree that the B4mb1 files are really good in this regard. You can tailor the sessions to how much time you have and what kind of things you are into.

good points

the ideal would be software which can randomize and rechop combinations and even keywords on the fly, if you don't have a problem with TTS it should already be possible. imagine if you could take a program and put your name and certain preferences in (e.g. i'm on a bed, don't tell me to lie back in the chair. the bed has no blankets etc)

How do you think subs should go about getting into any sort of hypnotism relationship or finding a hypnotist? Fetish communities are almost entirely riddled with subs, people that only care about files/file creators, low effort role-players, SJW faggots, and generally just people wanting superficial or short term relationships. What the hell is a sub supposed do to get into a serious relationship of this sort? Hypnotists have initiative since they essentially can create these sorts of relationships from generic ones but it feels like bar being lucky or bullshitting till you can bring it up and hope theyre interested being a sub means you're SOL.

like with dating, its all luck sadly.

In my experience, the first step to finding a person for that, is to give up.

Just socialize with hypnosis people you like and maybe something will happen, eventually.

Whatever you do, do not limit yourself to fetish chat rooms. Thanks to their quicker pace they either derail into off-topic subjects and never come back, or they sink into complete depravity with constant ERP and short-lived internet hookups. Most women into femdom and especially hypnosis were introduced to it through their boyfriends anyways so you're better off hanging around people with actual skills and interests outside fetishes, both online and offline. No, this does not mean becoming a normalfag or dating one, fuck that shit.

I actually met someone through the first kind of fetish room, but neither she nor I were really fetish room people and we both separately stumbled into it out of boredom and stuck around for the off-topic stuff. In light of this, I guess derailed fetish rooms can be okay-ish but you should not expect to find good women there or make them your main social world because you'll end up like the failed normalfag losers that populate them.

The bad part is some of the people running those are just terrible people. Have you heard about "Neverside" from "Neverside Labs"? He does submissive-type hypnosis. He bans people from his servers simply for giving him bug reports. And if you email him he snaps at you like you're just wasting his time. You would think that with this kind of thing it would be one big community, but clearly some hypnotists are just nasty. It's real sad.

Why waste time responding to emails or bug reports when you can co-run a discord server for communist toilet lickers and other extreme degredationfags?

I'm not even in chat rooms at all because Ive yet to find any even remotely tolerable. I know you can't meet people unless you be places people are and socialize to some degree, it just seems like places to even do that essentially don't exist without incredibly sjw or normalfag saturated social climates. Even trying to tolerate such places doesn't seem to work since the climate just means the doms are mostly faggots anyway.

Have afew questions after I've tried hypnosis off and on for years:

1.Is there any surefire/hardcore ways/files that work on willing people who can't seem to get in the right mind?

2.I find my mind wandering alot and not paying attention to the voice

3. Are there many files that will work after you "wake up?" instead of just off a keyword?

I'm not new but i've tried stuff like once every few months for years now. I give up and try agin. I've tried multiple sessions, listening while sleeping, every day listening etc etc.

I really really want something to work

This thread was pretty great, the pair bonding discussion got pretty interesting and it'd be nice to see if others had more thoughts

Understanding your skepticism don't you think someone who feels a sense attachment across a body is in a unique position of understanding pair bonding, that poster described having a very close relationship with their mate?

> muh consent

Nobody asked your consent before you where persuaded to be a special snowflake, that deserves everything in the world.

And the only actually working hypnosis is persuation.

How do you deal with this?
