While the one party system in China is rigid, the US are flexible and can change a lot within a few years, depending on who is in charge. The current republican/trumpian shitshow will probably have an impact on public opinion for at least a decade or two.
Bottom line, I just lean back and watch from the sidelines. My wife is Chinese, I am EU-caucasian, both academics, so we can go wherever if needed.

The problem of Honey Select is that, although in theory it is possible to change the facial features and make the face western, most of the default girls have an Asian face. The pic is the default HS "caucasian blonde", and the traits are oriental.
Since most devs are lazy and just want easy money, they don't work very much on the character's appearance.
It is possible to create western faces, but in my opinion they always have some remnants of oriental features. And the more you distance yourself from the eastern pattern, the harder it becomes to make a harmonious face (usually the western faces made in Honey Select look ugly).

Its not made using the main game but, later versions came with a program called Studio neo, which let you make custom poses and animations. Although custom animations are a bit janky without mods. Mods give a lot of options from everything to model customization, items, maps, lighting, and animating.

Hongafire has a bunch of older mods, but the best place to grab a whole bunch is from one of the pastebins or mega folders you can find floating around. While if you want the latest mods as they come out you either keep an eye on the mod makers patreons or join a discord where people link mods as they come out or update.
