Anxiety disorders/panic attacks 引きこもり 10/25/17 (Wed) 01:07:17 cb62f5 No. 1297
How do you guys deal with Anxiety or panic attacks? (but I don't know what the fuck they're exactly called)
I have them ~3 times a week. During that 'moment' I feel incredibly hopeless and I just lay on the side of my bed. Occasionally I would cry but most of the time I get this tingly feeling on the skin of my hands etc. and I genuinely feel scared that I'll die.
It sucks because I don't really have anyone else to talk to.
I don't know. I thought it would be good to make a thread on this, sharing some advice or maybe let out some steam like me and explain what happens during that moment.

Honestly? Years upon years of avoidance. I've becoming exceedingly good at it which has slowly but surely ensured that my ability to go outside is royally screwed. But hey atleast I have a sense of comfort knowing that there are several effective strategies that I can use.
I don't know if this'll be helpful advice but a strong stimuli that works on your primal instincts can usually trick you into relaxing. Things like eating food to fulfill your need for sustenance or masturbating to trigger your urge to procreate are very effective in a pinch. The subconscious mind controls the anxiety response just like those primal instincts, you can basically tell anxiety to get fucked by forcing your subconscious to focus on another 'need' via external stimuli, in this case porn or food. Obviously these are not long term strategies, if they were then in theory you could function outdoors by walking around with a six inch sub in one hand whilst jacking a six inch sub in the other. Beyond short term countermeasures comes long term escapism. Books, music, media, writing. Whatever it takes to lose yourself from your sense of self will be a key factor in how well you can manage each day. For every hour that your mind is occupied is another hour that you need not worry about a panic attack.
I realize this isn't HEALTHY advice, but if your goal is not recovery but instead avoiding the problem then it's solid and I can attest to its effectiveness.

I learned that i can prevent general anxiety if i exercise daily. But i have no solutions for when it gets bad or when i have a real attack. The best i've learned to do is jump on it and ride the things i'm thinking about until it becomes silly but that doesn't work often.
>>1302
How do you eat or jack off during an anxiety attack? That makes me feel sick just thinking about it. My body feels like hot garbage when my anxiety gets bad and there's no way i could masturbate like that, and eating makes me feel worse because my eating habits are a cause of my anxiety

What works for me may not work for you. The best advice I can give for pure avoidance is identifying the signs of an attack before it gets out of control, it's at that stage that I'll act to control it before it controls me. Though I suppose you could argue that such behavior is just another way that it controls me but at the very least it FEELS like it's on my own terms. Aside from 'feeling' anxious there might be subtle physiological signs happening in your body that you may be unaware of or otherwise assume are normal occurrences. Perhaps there's a subtle sign of things taking a turn for the worse ahead of time that you can use to put a coping strategy into action.
As for what to do during an attack itself? If I knew a truly effective strategy other than finding more comfortable ways to ride it out, then I wouldn't have spent so much time and effort on avoidance in the first place. Avoidance by nature is a coping strategy, not a solution to a problem.
I suppose I could try and help you brainstorm some ideas if you're interested though, after all I have nothing if not time to spare.

I know that feel bro going outside for food alone takes all i have and sometimes i freeze or get really nervous when i see a lot of people like huge crowds of people i always wonder what their thinking about me and if they know that i'm a worthless failure fucking hell i don't wanna fucking deal with any of these people i just wanna get my food get out and go back to my room where i belong i also have a legitimate fear of being recorded by normalfags with their cell phones because i watch a lot of Youtube and i see the videos put up on there of people recording situations that break out between people in like stores for example where people are fighting. Why the fuck do normalfags feel the need to publicly humiliate everyone they come into contact with??. fuck i hate society.

What helps me avoid them is a large amount of Slice of Life/Isekai manga, anime and light novels.
Makes me stop thinking about my current situation and of something better.
Probably not the healthiest self-medication ever, but it works.
Anxiety attacks to me feel like my heart is about to be crushed. Just all this pressure around it.
When it happens, I usually watch some of my favorite Slice of Life anime since I can't concentrate on reading in that moment. What works best for me here is Non Non Byori or Spice&Wolf (not a SoL, still comfy) until it stops.

Would you be open to learning meditation?
Specifically Qigong, called the Microcosmic Orbit?
I have to ask you first because this board is not receptive to anything inspiring. My posts have been deleted in the past when I've tried to help in this way. I know it's from a misunderstanding about what I'm trying to do; but I don't want to break the rulez and/or waste anyones time.
Learning to control your mind and emotions will improve everything in your life. But in the beginning learning how to relax is very difficult because humans don't want to sit still. We evolved in this way to avoid being eaten by predators like the saber tooth tiger etcetera. learning to sit still for even 5 minutes will be the hardest thing you ever did. This is the study of your own Electromagnetic bioenergy, the electrical energy that gives you life. If you respond in the positive I will begin, if not, I wish you well and good luck in your life.
take care

I know that feeling. I got bullied in Highschool and it contributed to the piles of problems I have throughout my life. I remember one time when I was just about to walk out of school, some random chick asked me if she could take a pic of me, holding her phone. I was in confusion for 1 min until saying no. And as I faced my back to her, her friends giggled and took a picture of me, whispering "I got him!!"
I'm able to tell this story without a problem now because it's morning, when I feel alright, but I would probably silently break down if it were more on the night time, where I'm tired and my meds are waning.
God I wish normalfags would just disappear somewhere out of this earth.

thanks anon.
>would you be open to learning meditation? Specifically Qigong,
>"According to Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucian philosophy, qigong allows access to higher realms of awareness, awakens one's "true nature", and helps develop human potential."
I skimmed through wiki of Qigong and Microcosmic Orbit and it sounds alright to me. I'm willing to give it a shot, though I never meditated before.
but I'm not going to spend money on this just in case you're some shady advertiser
sorry, I just want to be safe

Everything I do is for free, I'm not a teacher, but I can share what I've learned. Pragmatic tutorials, it absolutely has to work or I throw it away. But it won't be easy, as I said we have an instinct that will fight the practice of meditation, but eventually you will teach yourself to relax and control the emotion, step by step anyone can benefit.

My practice: when I began more than 10 years ago there was very little good information available. And what was there was clouded in religion or mysticism. This will be simple, let's call it a progressive relaxation technique. You will create a mind body connection that can feel your own energy; a biofeedback loop.
It is best to lay down. Close your eyes. Just relax and breath normally. As you breath in and out the areas of the body will warm up or tingle on the exhale. For most people it is easy to feel this in the hands, but in the beginning it is usually very subtle. Over time and with practice this feeling becomes stronger. Now just move the mind as you breath, to the different points explained in the clips I gave you, until you complete a revolution or orbit, continue this as many as you like.
After some time even this is not necessary, you will be able to just lie down, breath and immediately relax and the whole body will warm up. You feel as if you are swimming in a field of energy, like water when you swim. This is because we are part of the electromagnetic field of the earth and universe, we just don't realize it until we mentally connect to it. Some are more sensitive and connect right away. It's extremely pleasurable and relaxing, enjoy.
All meditation is emotional training, eventually this will become a natural part of your life, while you do anything. You will be able to relax at anytime and change your emotions just by willing it.
take care

Board owner here i do apologize for not communicating with you anon. The reason your Youtube clips were getting deleted was because they were kinda cluttering up the threads and also keeping the threads somewhat on topic is important too don't get me wrong i like your post anon as you are one of the smartest hikkis on here and have contributed a lot to the board and i do appreciate it but i think it would be better to explain what you're trying to do on here in text rather than post a bunch of Youtube videos posting Youtube videos is fine but it's a lot easier for users to understand what you are talking about when you write/type it anyway that is just my advice to you anon hope to see more post by you in the future.

I've had tape over the camera on my laptop since I got it. I just noticed that tape is pulled back just enough for the eye of the camera to see me now. I don't remember doing this aand dont fidget with the stickers and crap on my laptop normally. This is some next level paranoia I'm feeling.
