Yeah those are the good ones for sure. Don't forget Resident Evil 4, Remake and Zero were originally Gamecube exclusives too and they are all good. Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon are fun too. There's a lot of good stuff for Gamecube..
speaking of… does anyone have an easy guide for softmodding the Wii menu on a WiiU so I can play all my sweet Gamecube roms on it?

Animal Crossing is comfy. There's newer ones sure, but it'll scratch the itch.
I also forgot to mention Beyond Good and Evil. Twilight Princess also had a release on the Gamecube even though it was also released on the Wii as a selling point for the then new console *sort of like what they just did with Breath of the Wild**

Heard some good things about Beyond, and was actually planning to get the Gamecube TP for my b-day. It'll be interesting to play with the map flipped back to normal. Gotta say, you've got some good taste with this stuff.
Also any portable recommendations? Been fooling around with the GBA recently. Even got the SML trilogy, first one is pretty addicting.

All the Castlevanias are really good for GBA. Aria of Sorrow is prolly my fav. The Minish Cap is great as well. God, GBA has a shit ton of good games tbh. Prolly my fav handheld of all although DS is good too. There's also more than a few crossover titles from SNES with better graphics on the GBA. Lotsa RPG's if your into that also.
I played the shit out of SML for Gameboy, I'm not sure I played the one on GBA. I'll never forget the music in that game though. Really catchy.
I'll add anything notable as far as recommendations as I remember them.

I honestly don't know about that one. I never played those on GBA. I remembered that some of the old Final Fantasies were on GBA tho, so those are worth a look if you never played them. Tales of Phantasia and Golden Sun are decent RPG's for it too. Oh and Advance Wars! Also pretty much anything Atlus put out for it is worth checking out.

All the Zelda games for GBC are very good, all in the style of A Link to the Past. I'm trying to reach way back in my memory here.. hmm.
Shantae is super good. I recommend them all, there's a couple on PC too. Obviously there were great that copy of Digimon games too if your into that. WarioLand games are good too. Believe it or not MGS was on gameboy color too, haha. GBC is another handheld with a shit ton of great games of all kinds. You could keep yourself busy with that and GBA for years. Ok shutting my old person brain down now :)

Been spending the past few months working through the Metroid franchise starting at the original NES game with a friend. We're on Metroid Prime Hunters after finishing the first Prime and it's a terrible experience.
It's so bad. We know the whole story at this point but they refuse to quit until the end. As a whole, though, good games. My favorite is Super Metroid, as is theirs.
Also recently played Bioshock. Good game, not exceptional.

I've been playing Blade and Soul lately. They're soon to release a third skill spec for Assassin class. I'm interested in trying it out when it drops in a couple weeks.
I mostly fool around and collect outfits, but the combat is actually very fun, as long as you pick a melee class or archer.
I tried TERA once, but while very novel for the time, didn't have much staying power for me. Not sure I've tried any other korean MMOs.

Runescape's actually a pretty good social game. It's so easy to do stuff with anyone at any time and spend most of it chatting. I actually got a lot of crafting and gathering skill because I was just talking while doing something mundane. The questing was also a good experience with friends. I liked the little stories in it. All in all, didn't actually get that far. Across ~2 years, maybe level 64 on an account I shared with 2 boys. They were the ones that showed me the game back then. In the modern OSRS version, I have played some with a college friend during one summer when she didn't have much to do outside working hours. We did all the F2P quests together with an optimized guide on order and what items to bring along. Was a nice experience.
