Do you think it's weird to have someone you're in a relationship with that complains about your period?

He says I often smell and i often get offended by it. He says i should take a shower, that i should bath during my period. when he says that i should, he throws off my ritual to bath twice a week.

Does anyone else feel this way with their boyfriend?

I kinda feel the same way OP. My boyfriend and I met about 8 months ago, I am kinda a shut in but my friends dragged me out one night and we kinda met. He was talking about some games and mentions one I played, kinda came over me fast to be frank. It was weird but I kinda fell in love with him fast and moved in after about 4 weeks. Now he is mad that "I don't do that shit" or "you really need to pick up after yourself". It's like living back home… The sex is great but he constantly tells me that I have to shower and stuff more than once a day, and do my own "dirty" laundry.

If it wasn't for the comfy in his house, I'd like it more if he wasn't so pushy on me needing to be out of my comfortzone.

There's really nothing wrong with taking baths while your period is on, I usually end up taking baths too and wash myself overall.

I don't understand. Do you not take showers during your period? I get not wanting to take a bath but I mean you have to stay clean. If you smell as a result of not bathing, then that's him having an issue with your scent, not your period itself.

Get a cheap detachable shower-head like pic related and clean your shit whenever you get blood on you. Takes like 30 seconds to spray your bits down, towel off and throw your panties back on and you're clean as a whistle. Also buy a menstrual cup instead of using pads and tampons which just encourage stink. You can keep it in for up to 12 hours at a time too which is fucking great. If he complains after all that then he's just a whiny cunt. Either way, I guarantee you'll at least feel better and cleaner. Problem solved.

are u dating a bitch? if he gets grossed out by ur period maybe he should stick to people who dont have periods….like men. He sounds like a real charmer. Periods fucking stink sometimes depending on how much blood ur losing but blood is going to smell like blood when u go the bathroom or if u open ur legs wide. Just change ur pad or tampon often (which u should usually do anyway) and u should be ok regarding the smell. If u straight up dont clean urself at all besides 2 baths a week when ur on the rag than ur just going to be a stinky bitch…which is gross.

Basic hygiene is really a basic requirement when regularly interacting with other people, and staying healthy and clean.

Your 'ritual' shouldn't be bathing twice a week, unless you're a full blown disgusting NEET.

People really do take baths once a day, or at the very least, once every 2 days.

If you're on your period I recommend that you wash as often as possible, not only to remove the smell, but to keep your crotch clean.

BUT if your BF is complaining of the period smell in the bathroom/discarded tampons/napkins then he's being inconsiderate.

People get so controlling in relationships. the old "I love you; change" deal is so annoying.

>shower and stuff more than once a day

The hell?

Maybe I project what I think is going on too much, but I think you need to stand up to him. Do clean, but don't capitulate to an obsessive compulsive neat-freak.

Y'know now that I'm thinking about it, I had a sister who was a bit younger than me, but once she hit puberty, her room reeked horribly. And it wasn't a fucking male stink, it was euch. I can only imagine what a mature form of that stench is like, power to the guy for actually saying something.

Seriously, bathing twice a week is fucking gross.

I honestly can't even imagine not bathing on my period. Maybe OP is in some 3rd world shithole where baths are luxury. Who knows. It's possible.

>I had a sister who was a bit younger than me, but once she hit puberty, her room reeked horribly.

If she was keeping used pads and stuff in her room, like in a wastebasket or something, that's probably why.

I honestly can't recommend a menstrual cup over tampons and pads enough. When I started using one I was actually angry that no one had told me about it before. It's also cheaper than buying feminine products every month since you buy one for about $30-$40 that lasts you an entire year. And the freedom of going 8-12 hours without blood all over or worrying about toxic shock syndrome or even having to think about your period is worth ten times the price.
