So my gf has a Windows 10 netbook, ridiculous OS design if I ever saw one. She uses it for college work, and its just slow as fuck.
Like it defrags monthly, and I've cleared everything using unnecessary memory. Anything else I can do?
>inb4 ditch Windows faggot, I know. Been trying to get her into Linux for a while now

Yeah she needs Windows for her college work, the college is fucking retarded and insists everything be done in it with Windows file extensions. God forbid they have to learn other formats...

Yep looks like an alien crap this shit out
Try Linux with libreoffice
You can try Linux mint
And change to chromium icon to a chrome icon and change the name to it
So she won't be too confused
Windows 10 is really not user friendly.
I think Linux mint with up to date drivers
And libreoffice will do the work
You can browse emails with that and everything
Also make sure the chromium is the 68 version...
Linux could be very good because of the way it using the hard drive
But it's really could be an hard drive issue (like slow one etc)
What could goes wrong?
Windows 10 sucks and only made to make money and fuck up the user
It's Microsoft inside joke
Fuck user make money like Apple did before us

Look and see why it is slow through task manager. Are any resources exhausted? Is CPU usages abnormally high? Is a browser consuming 90% of memory ? Is disk access 50Mb/s ? Test hard drive. What kind of CPU does laptop have? AMD E1 ?

He should probably install a real OS first so the virtual machine TempleOS has to run in isn't too slow.
