I've installed linux mint cinnamon on w10 with the option "install linux alongside windows". after installation it crashes. Tried booting up linux but it shows a command window instead of the GUI. Can anyone help how to solve it?

first thing is why would you need windows at all and you distro choice is strange.

Try typing startx and pushing enter however if it's the grub rescue the easiest option is to wipe your linux partition and start again

Boot up Falcon4 Ultimate Boot CD and run Boot ICE to fix the bootloader
