I took a programming class in 9th grade, it was VB6 no one knew what they were doing, I flew through it and would play starcraft or halo CE over LAN with other fags for the whole class. It was pretty good.
the next year, in the 2nd level of the class that only people who knew what they were doing got into, we were going to learn how to program in some shit called ALICE. but we ended up doing PYTHON 3, and that was pretty nice but I did not really like python much.
>>561LUA was one of the first languages I tired to learn myself, Back in the day when garry's mod 10 had just came out and you could make your own custom scripted weapons that did all kinds of fun shit. Of course I never did fully learn it but skip forward to a few months ago some random guy hits me up on steam asking to help him with his GMOD RP server and asking if i knew LUA.
>YEAH I KNOW LUA>help him set up his server>he asks me to make a few custom jobs>I code these jobs by just looking at the syntax of other default ones.>everything just werkz (ILOVELUA)>I have full admin control of server>everything is going well>other guy who is friends with server owner asking me for FTP access >ignore this random fagot who sounds like he has no idea what he is talking about.>server owner now says OTHER guy is going to do his programming >other guy fucks whole server up>guy begs me to fix>i re upload the backups i made because i knew this would happen >he then starts asking me to do more shit for him>tell him i don't work for free>gets mad and has not talked to me since i asked for compensation for hours of lua coding. why do people want shit done for free?

I wanna get into Nim as well. It's based off of Pascal in many ways. It's a whitespace language like Python (and just as expressive) but it has a soft GC and compiles to C! Really neat.
